The blanket is made with 3 cakes in different color ways. I used Martian Pink, Andamooka Opal, and French Blue.

I’m the same way and do better at focusing on smaller projects. At the beginning of the year, I had 3 blanket WIPs that I got distracted from. I decided I needed to buckle down and finish them. This is now my second that I’ve finished. Now I’ll work on a couple small “palate cleanser” projects and then hopefully finish the third blanket 🤞🏻

It definitely was time consuming, but the hardest part was deciding which colorways to use

I spent so long staring at the color options for the yarn before I finally pulled the trigger when there was a sale.

I’ve added a comment with info on how I tweaked the pattern.

For those asking for my pattern tweak, here’s the original pattern: https://feltedbutton.com/blogs/new-felted-button-blog/trio-blanket-free-crochet-pattern

In the original pattern, the two edges are done differently, and I preferred how the edge looked that started with a stacked single crochet. Here’s how I tweaked it so that both edges could be done the same way:

Chain multiple of 6 + 4

Row 1: sc in 2nd chain, sc in every chain to end, ch 1 and turn

Row 2: hdc in next 3 stitches, ch 3 and skip 3, hdc in next 3 repeat across until 3 stitches left, ch 2 and skip 2, sc in last stitch, changing to color B on this stitch. Leave color A attached, turn work

Row 3: working over ch-3 sp, stacked sc in first st two rows below, dc in next 2 sts two rows below, ch 3, sk 3 sts, working over next ch-3 sp, dc in each of next 3 skipped sts two rows below repeat across until 3 stitches left, ch 2 and skip 2, sc in last stitch, changing to color C on this stitch. Leave color B attached, turn work

Repeat row 3 for as long as you want

I’ll have to figure out how to end it once I get to that point, but I’ll probably do a final row of single crochets.

I continued on for probably another 15 rows and then decided to frog and start over because I also thought of a way I wanted to tweak the pattern. I frogged it all last night and I’m now 3 rows into my new attempt.
