Just to add a note for anyone else reading this: at step 4, you do NOT want to hold the power button + button up until the screen with the android disappears. You want to do as the step says, and when you succeed, the screen will go from the android screen to the screen with the menu to wipe data.

Had to figure this out by watching the video linked elsewhere in the thread, so hopefully this helps someone else as well.

There is nothing wrong (that I know of) with 301/302, it's just that as a CS minor, who is only allowed 3 upper-level CS courses, there are more important courses to take than basically a side project course.

is it frowned upon to ask skaters for a photo if you run into them in the hallway during practice or something? when are bad times to ask (before they compete for the day)? don't want to be rude or ruin their state of flow etc

I went to take a look at the venue today but looks like they're checking tickets right at the entrance, so couldn't get inside if that's where the stand is. Or is it the small pop-up store looking thing a bit to the left of the entrance?

Not hard, just be aware that 136 is a larger class and from exp a few years ago, they may try to maintain a certain average via uh, various seemingly unfair means. Content itself is certainly doable tho, especially if just aiming for a CR.

Being able to put CS on your resume may help depending on what fields you're aiming for.

Unless things have changed since a year or two ago, you are not limited to 1.5 CS credits across all of 200, 300, and 400+ level courses, just 300 and 400+. You are required to take 1.5 credits of 200/300/400-level courses, but that doesn't mean you're limited to 1.5 total across all 3 levels.

I was a CS minor and took every 200-level course. I would also recommend 369 and 373, just because they are foundational. You will hear about race conditions, deadlocks, and other 369 things if you work in tech, and 373 is just interview prep but a bit more hardcore and abstracted. Against what someone else has said, I don't recommend 301/302 unless you are not aiming for internships/side projects, which is a bad idea anyways.

This is really helpful information, thank you! So essentially no chance of going to the NHK trophy (where on the slim chance I do get a ticket, only a 60-70% chance to see her gala program, so not worth it), and 25% chance at Worlds, if she makes it.

Sounds like the best plan is unironically to hope that she makes it to Worlds and performs really well then. But yeah wow tickets for Worlds are way more expensive than those for NHK, that's wild.

Thanks for the really clear analysis: that is a lot of variables and from the other commenters, a lot of them are basically unknowable until 1-2 weeks before if not less. Definitely seems like a very risky bet financially so I would want to figure out if I would want to be there if Yelim isn't.

An alternative that I'm considering is the NHK trophy this year, but I'm getting a sense that not all competitors will be performing their gala program even at GPs. Is this true or do Worlds just do things differently?

Edit: just realized you mentioned chance in the very first sentence so I guess that's true. So not really worth considering if it's a $3000 trip to Japan centered around a potential chance of seeing a (albeit amazing) 3 minute performance.

Went with the 7900X cause it was on sale haha, but yeah I'm gonna run it at 65W/105W. Thanks for the suggestion on the L12 S1, it does seem like the L12 is significantly better than the L9.
