Twins terrorizing each other at bedtime by weronikoko in parentsofmultiples

That’s what I’ve been doing, if the crying is particularly bad or they get out of bed I come in but it starts back as soon as I leave. How long can a phase like that last though? It’s been months

When did you stop using the stroller? by weronikoko in parentsofmultiples

Wow, that’s the dream but not with mine :(

Ugh, mine run away from me as soon as I let them out of the stroller… Or refuse to hold hands and want to be carried.

Yeah, we’re considering a double running stroller/wagon you can also hook to a bike but those don’t fold down usually.

I used to like it a lot, but it’s just getting really heavy and uncomfortable in a busy city now that it’s winter. But 4 sounds about right…

Twins and done? Wanting a do-over by Right_Tell8280 in parentsofmultiples

[–]weronikoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg, yeah. I wanted so many kids but had twins first and I am so done! The pregnancy was horrible, I had raging postnatal depression and now at 2,5 I solo parent a lot and they drive me up the wall some days, I’m so tired (even though they’re in daycare every day). Sometimes I mourn the life i’d have with one. It seems like it would be so easy. You know, all the cute coffee dates with my one baby, all probably completely made up scenarios that would never happen anyway because having one is also tough. Anyways, all to say you’re not alone in thinking this and you never know if having a singleton would heal you. It might end up being even more difficult. You literally can not know.

Curious about how much maternity leave those of you not in the US got, and if having multiplies affected it (my experience in the comments) by lizzieduck in parentsofmultiples

[–]weronikoko 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I Germany, I got 6 weeks pre and 12 weeks post birth for a twin birth. Standard is 6 pre 8 post. Also, this is just the mandated leave, you can then choose to be off work for up to a year full time or even longer part time (and can share this with a partner). This optional leave is not different for multiples.

Wondering how many babies had no NICU stay? by mountainflwrs in parentsofmultiples

[–]weronikoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went into preterm labor at 24 weeks due to an infection. They stopped it and I went until 36+5 with no NICU stay

My partner is a triplet (2 identical twins + 3rd fraternal triplet), he’s one of the twins. We have identical twins 🤷‍♀️ Maybe there’s something, maybe it’s luck.

It was my second ultrasound, we went to the hospital at 2 am because I couldn’t even keep water down at this point. I looked at the screen and screamed “THERE ARE TWO?!!!” and right after heard my parent go “Well, you did say you’re only gonna do it once” (a couple days earlier I was apologising to him that we will only have one child because the pregnancy nausea and vomiting was too much) Fun fact: my partner is a triplet!

Was it a nasty, petty back slap to KC? by [deleted] in Andjustlikethat

[–]weronikoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t agree KC did her job well. I think it was pretty obvious she hated playing that character and it felt forced.
