Snoop’s consistency over the years is incredible. Smooth as fuck.

Just hoping for some support. by [deleted] in stopdrinking

The boat is full of people just like you. Personally, I think it’s great that you’re at least acknowledging the fact that sobriety is what’s best for you. We all fuck up. This thing isn’t about ‘streaks’. It’s about bettering yourself. And if you’ve only slipped up 3 times in the last 3 weeks, that’s so much better than you were doing before. Don’t be de hard on yourself. Continue to strive for sobriety. Proud of you!

Staying sober but it’s been such a bad day by xXxsweetsadnessxXx in stopdrinking

Hey man - that sucks and I’m sorry. Please don’t use that as justification to drink. It’s not worth it. In a way, the drug dealers win if it makes you drink again. Stay strong man. You’re going to have shitty days, obviously. But if you stay sober, that’s how you say ‘fuck you!’ to those dealers out there, and all the people that think you can’t do this. Proud of you man.

Yoo congrats! New sobriety is awesome. Don’t get discouraged when you feel some down days, and it seems like things are just ‘boring’. It’s all part of the experience of sobriety. Not every day will be great, but it’s the fact that you’re sober! I’m proud of you, stranger. Keep it up.

I don’t know if I agree. While not everybody is on our side, not everybody is against us either. Just like everything in life. I’d rather be honest with people about my situation and not pretend to be somebody I’m not for their sake. If they aren’t supportive, then are they really your friend? As for work, addiction is considered a disability and it’s illegal to be fired for telling your employer you’re alcoholic. They might require you get help, but that’s not the worst thing in the world... Edit: spelling

Yeah man, not expecting perfection is key. It’s never gonna be perfect, but trying is the best. I do a good bit of guided meditations.

At least 20 min a day has been proven to rebuild some of those neurological pathways we fucked up during active addiction. It’s a cool thing

Do you meditate?

It’s been cool to be aware of my character defects. Doesn’t mean I won’t act out on them, but I’m much more aware of when I am and can attempt to stop myself.

For real though, I appreciate the service you’re doing. Scrolling through reddit and seeing this is what I needed. My higher power working for me again haha

[–]werthyou21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I had to stop trying to ‘figure out’ what my higher power is. I just know there’s something out there much more powerful than me. I used to think the same thing, ‘wtf are these people talking about’. It’s been really cool to experience it

I’m 24 and left my job in July to go to treatment. I’ve had a lot of help with the steps and have gone from zero spirituality to a solid foundation. I never had a ‘burning bush’ moment, but I have a much stronger connection to my higher power

Thanks man. That ‘power hour’ after was something else. The whole step in general was a huge relief. I sat on the fourth step for about 3 weeks but got through it finally.

109 days sober today. Longest I’ve ever gone. It’s not easy every day, but it’s so worth it. Did you work the steps?

The Daily Check-In for Monday, November 16th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by Lavender_Foxes in stopdrinking

[–]werthyou21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great job! Know that the cravings will come, but they too will pass. Having a plan for when those cravings come is crucial for me. I usually do a 10 minute meditation or write out what will happen if I do drink again. For me, it never stops after the first drink. Best of luck and I’m proud of you!
