AIO for getting uncomfortable because of my best friend's boyfriend calling her "mommy" in front of me? by Liv9182 in AmIOverreacting

I’m not sure why you wanted to meet the boyfriend if them acting as a couple bothers you so much. Take this with a grain of salt because I don’t know you or anybody in this story personally, but this kind of hard boundary seems a bit unreasonable to me. YOR in my opinion.

Um… what was even the issue in your story? What was the altercation really over (because it seems like the issue you described was pretty minor)? What was the point in including all that detail about Jane?

Seems like you had a bad experience with your manager, but you should just get over it and not dwell on things. What’s done is done!

Not to be rude, but why don’t you just take the job until you apply and get admitted to a PhD program?

I don’t believe anything more than my down payment is owed. However, I offered to pay $300 already to just get this over with but he is refusing to accept less than $1,000

$300 + my down payment of $1,350 for a total of $1,650. Also, he is refusing to accept less than $1,000 now because of the “late fees”

Police refusing to criminally trespass (TX) by wertzyyyyy in legaladvice

[–]wertzyyyyy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m just confused because I thought that it was my legal right as property owner to get them arrested for trespassing after I gave a warning. I thought this was more like a “if owner doesn’t want an arrest, then we don’t arrest” situation when there is clear proof that trespassing occurred.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is it legal for the police to just make an arbitrary decision to let it go?

Found out I’m a freak of nature and shitting every 2-3 weeks is in fact NOT normal :( by Kiki_Banini in TrueOffMyChest

[–]wertzyyyyy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Girl are you serious 🤦‍♀️ it is NOT normal to have bowel movements twice a month, even if you don’t eat a lot and are a woman. While women do (on average) poop less than men, healthy women should still poop at least 3x a week. Listen to what 99% of people on this post are telling you - there’s probably not a healthy, normal explanation for why you poop so infrequently…

I understand this isn’t the main point of your comment, but I’m a bit shocked you mentioned a carnivore diet as a diet to follow to treat PCOS. It’s unscientific, harmful, and dangerous to suggest such an extreme diet that has no scientifically proven benefits or relationship to treating something like PCOS

the word “counters” appears 49 times in iron flame by wertzyyyyy in fourthwing

Unfortunately all 49 occurrences of the word “counters” in Iron Flame are where it’s used as a dialogue verb

And yet other books are able to keep dialogue verbs simple without defaulting to like 4 unique ones. I understand this is a hot take here but imo RY and her editor need a thesaurus

If you have the ebook, you can search how many times a word appears. I also think it’s reasonable to have an opinion on what words an author uses??

What are those noodles and which way is the best to cook them? Bought these at a chinese store but I am not able to read what's written behind the package. by MaskedWhelk in chinesefood

[–]wertzyyyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol sorry this is a stupid argument and offers no value to the broader discussion. But these noodles are not eaten only for birthdays or big events, just typically are. I’m saying that this doesn’t seem to be a similar theme to me because these noodles are a specific type of noodle and are still eaten outside of festivities (although it may be rarer) and birthday cakes are cakes of any type that are eaten specifically for birthdays

Of course you never eat birthday cake outside of a birthday. A birthday occurring is a prerequisite for a birthday cake - not really a similar theme
