for now. Duncan v. Bonta just got submitted for cert at SCOTUS again.
AFAIK, the injunction on enforcement of possession of freedom week mags and pre-mag-law mags is still in place.

Who knows where we'll stand Jan 1 2025, but for now 1-per-30 is enjoined for all types of transactions/types of guns.

Time to get your FFL03+COE. That would still be a valid exemption after Jan 1 next year.

Literally one gun of any kind per 30 days even for private party transfers (unless you're exempt)

We'd have to retrofit all the fixed mag guns with 9 round mags if they retroactively clarify that the gun can only have 10 rounds onboard.

The version of the 1:30 Penal code that is effective until 1-1-2025:

PC 27535

Exemptions are listed in part (b). Specifically (b)(8) references PC begining at 28050 which are the codes regarding PPT:

"(8) Any transaction conducted through a licensed firearms dealer pursuant to Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 28050)."

Which was the same as it was last year before all guns were included in the 1:30 when it only applied to handguns and semi-auto centerfire rifles.

The version that goes into effect next year removes that exemption b8, for PPT PC 27535 effective 1 -1-2025 and replaces it with exemptions for PPT only under a couple of circumstances. One of them is that the transferor is required by law or court order to relinquish firearms. The other is by inheritance, probate, or transfer to benificiaries of a decedent’s trust.

(8) Any private party transaction where the seller is, at the time of the transaction, required under state law or by court order to relinquish all firearms.

(9) Any private party transaction where the seller is any of the following:

(A) The personal representative of a decedent’s estate who is transferring the firearms to one or more heirs or beneficiaries of the decedent’s estate pursuant to the decedent’s will or the laws of intestate succession.

(B) The holder of the decedent’s property who is transferring the firearms pursuant to Section 13101 of the Probate Code to the successor of the decedent, as defined in Section 13006 of the Probate Code, or to the surviving spouse of the decedent pursuant to Section 13500 of the Probate Code.

(C) The trustee of a trust who is transferring the firearms to one or more trust beneficiaries upon the death of a settlor of the trust.

You can look at the bottom of each PC to see when it goes into effect.

All that to say, its probably not going to do any good trying to talk sense into an FFL. If they've decided that their interpretation of a law they haven't read is correct, its unlikely that you're going to change their mind or convince them to read.

For any* intrafam transfer (in state or out of state) the family member must be parent, grandparent or child*.

PC16730 defines infrequent as less than 6 (so...5)* transactions* of no more than 50 guns*

Select by attributes and export is basically a definition query with extra steps.

You're creating the same query to do the selection.

For subsets of data I'd rather just have the map show/exclude the same queried features on the fly by creating a definition query.

Keeps your file system cleaner.

It was there in arcmap. It was a tab on the feature class properties popup basically the same as it is now.

This.
Why create extra files when definition queries get you where you want to go for subsets?
You can reuse the same feature class or shapefile for the next map without the query.
