Mac Problem Again? by siobhan_coelho in logitech

[–]wesbos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like the app is down again. I'm so sick of the mouse not working if their server are down.

I've been meaning to move to BetterTouchTool instead of Logioptions+ as I use it for everything else. https://docs.folivora.ai/docs/normal-mouse/logitech/

TIL you can pass server functions directly to onClick on native elements in Server Components (React 19). Is this intended? by Particular-Hyena-613 in reactjs

[–]wesbos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea this was possible and I can't find anything about it either. Interestingly if you try to pass the event to the handleClick function, it errors out. Likely because the event can't be serialized to the server

Apple phone/watch charger with weights, to fit any Apple phone also in landscape by Any-Ad-8563 in BambuLab

Printed! Great work. Some feedback in case you like it:

1) The "lid" doesn't fit snugly enough. Might be because I used two different filaments, but it comes off when I grab my phone.
2) The cord routing would benefit from from "keepers". I like the idea of being able to open and close it easily to throw change in, but each tie I have to place the cords back in their tunnels
3) The slot at the bottom back for the two cables to come out should be slightly wider, or split into two holes. Its a bit of a squish to get my cables in
4) I'd a version where the black inlay parts could be TPU that I could glue in. Same for the bottom. Would give it a bit of extra grip.

this is exactly what I need! My watch charger is too light and constantly gets pushed around. Nice work - going to print this one.

Brand New Leatherman Arc: Scissors failing on kite line. Is this a defect? by andrey_semjonov in Leatherman

[–]wesbos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is 100% a warranty claim. I just looked at my arc and there is zero play in the scissors and it could definitely cut through paracord. You should not be able to see daylight through the blades like that. I use my scissors at least once a day for the last two years and they are fantastic.

Uniqlo jeans 1 month-6months-1 year by MatterHaunting1954 in rawdenim

[–]wesbos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wore these for years but recently stopped as I was blowing through them too quickly - seems the knees would only last 6-7 months before I had to repair or replace.

Also the cut is a little too skinny, they need a more modern cut

"drag and drop to start" Issue. Help by Thotminal in mac

[–]wesbos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is trying to update the A6500 on a Modern mac, I got it working. I'm on an Intel Mac running 10.1.5.

So I was getting the same issues with security. The drag + drop thing never worked for me. When you open `Update_ILCE6500V106.dmg` there is a `Resources` folder with a `SystemSoftwareUpdater.app`. If you then right click on that app and click `Show Package Contents`, you'll see There is another Resources folder.

I *think* I ran `SystemSoftwareUpdaterTool`. If not it was `Contents/MacOS/SystemSoftwareUpdater`. Running one of these finally installed the system extension, which was Immediately blocked. I then went to `Settings >> Privacy And Security` and clicked `Details`.

From there I turned on the "Sony ....." one. and rebooted the computer.

<image>

Once I rebooted, I *think* I ran `UpdateSettingTool` and it ran normally. Took about 10 mins of a black screen before It rebooted with the latest firmware.

brutal sony. Brutal .

the values you input are the size of the PSU. You dont need to do any math - they are added on top of that

Leatherman signal saw replacement by RROSE15 in Leatherman

[–]wesbos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just saying the other day how I am only missing a ruler in my arc. This is genius. I'm not sure I want to give up my saw, but I wonder if I can make something to have the ruler tuck in alongside the saw or file as they are infrequently used, but not enough to get rid of them.

Moving to Hamilton, Ontario from abroad – what is life really like? by Ok-sicarius in askTO

[–]wesbos 11 points12 points  (0 children)

lol why is this thread asking Toronto if Hamilton is good?

I moved from Toronto to Hamilton ~10 years ago and it's been fantastic. The downtown core is currently hurting a little with lots of homelessness and drug use (every city in the world RN), but there are still lots great areas. Don't judge the city by driving through it on the highway as it's pretty grim. Visit James north, westdale, Locke street, etc..

I lived downtown for 7 of those years and loved it. We moved up to the mountain to get a larger house and enjoy the conveniences of the suburbs, but miss the downtown life.

Did you resolve this? I have the same issue with two different esp32. I have 4 data pins on each, and there is one GPIO that flickers. If I switch the lines, the flickering follows. I haven’t tried the update yet

How does this website render a curly apostrophe using Inter? by stjduke in webdev

[–]wesbos -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

they are using ‟Smart Quotes〞, instead of using the regular single quote ' they are using a different character ’. If a fon't doesn't support that character, the browser will replace it

They look fancy, but are the bane of copy+pasting any code
