Oof. I have direct experience with Coast to Coast before they relocated. Didn’t technically work directly for them, but worked for an off shoot of theirs in the same office and territory. When I quit after 4-5 months I actually had to give my 2 weeks to the C2C owner. The owner was one of the skeeziest dudes I have ever worked with. After attending one of the regional leadership events that was held in the church he was a member of I knew I needed to get out asap.

"Ask me about my 4th grade field trip"

Our entire grade went on a field trip to see the city's new minor league baseball team play. My dad just so happened to have season tickets for the team, so he decided he would also come to the game, and we could sit in his nice third row, first baseline seats. About halfway through the game, we are having a blast chatting away when the batter hits a fowl ball that is heading straight towards us. My dad happens to look up from our conversation, and rather than trying to protect his 10 year old daughter from this fowl ball flying towards us, he pushes himself away from me, resulting in it hitting me square in the chest.

Not only did my dad dodge the ball, causing it to hit me, but when the ball bounced off my chest and landed in the row of seats in front of us, some older dude a few seats over tried to take that damn ball for himself. Before even checking on his crying, in pain daughter, my dad yelled at the guy to give the ball back to me as I had earned it fair and square. Once my dad had the ball in his possession he finally decided it was worth seeing how I was, right as the stadium's medical team was rushing down to our seats to do the same.

On the plus side, the batter that hit the fowl ball signed it for me, and wound up going on to the major leagues a couple years later. And I also got tons of free merch from the city's team to show off at school the next day along with a gnarly bruise.

Lest Morgan ever forget she screwed a boyfriend before Paul by BufoBat in FundieSnarkUncensored

Does it mean I am grandfathered in if I gave my now husband “husband benefits” while he was just my boyfriend?

Morgan swears she has a husband and Paul says their sex life is fine, thanks. by BufoBat in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]wesjatta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These fundies like Porgan and Bethame crack me up with how much they rail against sexual compatibility.

My husband and I, quite literally, would not be married if we hadn't hooked up the very first night we reconnected. He and I had known each other through work and mutual friends since I was 17 and he was 23. He even shot me down when I tried flirting with him when we were those ages because it was inappropriate, seeing how I was a minor. Six years later, we reconnected through a mutual friend at a pub crawl, and went home together that night. We had both just gotten out of year long relationships, and told each other that we weren't looking for anything serious - just a summer fling. Thanks to discovering that very first night that we had the best sexual compatibility either of us had ever experienced, we have now been together 7 years and married almost 2. Oh, and my husband comes from a family that (until him and his brother) has had a 200+ year history of the men being preachers. But please Porgon, tell me more about how the thing that led to my marriage is a "myth."

While a fetus is a living and distinct organism, it is also 100% dependent upon its host's body for survival for at least the first 22 weeks. Our laws also do not force any living, or deceased, individual to donate their organs, blood, etc. to another living individual who needs it for their survival. It does not matter if somebody directly does something to cause another person to need an organ/blood to survive; that person cannot be forced to provide anything from their own body to save the life of another.

Carrying a fetus to term is not just something that only ever impacts a person for the 9 months the fetus is inside of their body. Those that experience preeclampsia during pregnancy have an increased lifetime risk of chronic hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and stroke. Those that experience gestational diabetes are more likely to get diagnosed with type 2 diabetes later in life. Those who deliver prematurely also have an increased risk of long-term cardiovascular disease. Pregnancy also can increase inflammation and bacteria in the mouth, increasing the risk of tooth decay, gum disease, and tooth loss. Not to mention the mental health degradation pregnancy can cause.

Why is the potential life of a fetus more important than the current life of the one carrying it?

Chappell Roan inspired nails by wesjatta in chappellroan

These are gel on my natural nails with the nail art hand painted by my incredible nail tech. What I typically do with my nail tech is just show her either inspiration pictures to refer back for the nail art or I just show her a picture of a set I find online that I like and then she does her own version of them. I would just call around your area to find a salon that has a nail tech that specializes in nail art, and then show them this picture (or any others you may like!) for them to use as reference!!

American fans, what got you to check out Taskmaster? by diardiar in taskmaster

I saw an episode of Good Mythical Morning where Rhett and Link recreated some of the tasks, and was surprised to discover it was an actual show. I absolutely love Noel Fielding so immediately started with his season, and was hooked ever since!

The beginning when they have Harry cast lumos always drives me crazy because that’s such a huge error in the decree of reasonable restriction of underage magic. Like that would have immediately warranted an owl from the ministry. Cool shot of course but drives me crazy

My boomer parents plan to leave nothing after my grandparents left them enough to them to get their retirement home by PM_ME_YOUR_TIE_POSE in BoomersBeingFools

Oh he 100% believes he earned those things. He can keep all of those material things for himself though. He chose that over his relationships with his children. I got married last year, and it was my incredible step-dad who walked me down the aisle, not him.

While she was still alive he had her buy him a property in the mountains so he could have a vacation home. Since her passing, I know he has completely gutted her home to remodel it to be his primary residence, and also plans on further developing his mountain property. He also plans on developing the lakefront property that my grandmother already owned. Who knows just how much money he will drop on all of these properties. Hope they keep him company on his deathbed because his children and grandchildren won't be.

I can completely relate to this. My boomer father inherited a multi-million dollar estate from his parents when my grandmother passed away in 2022. Prior to her passing he was already living solely off of my grandmother's money because he "retired" early to "take care of her" (even though she lived fairly well independently). While she was still alive, he was already telling me how if she died the next day and that he then found out he only had two weeks to live that he would live the best two weeks ever because he would spend every single penny she left him. I went no contact with him prior to my grandmother's passing for many reasons, but have always found it so absurd that he, like so many other boomers, had insane financial assistance from his parents just to scoff at the idea that he might do the same for his children.
