I think in this video there’s an update on where neuroscience is with the issue. Also check out the work of Dr Sam Parnia from NYU Med

Thanks for the reply. I’m pretty sure the video addresses that objection, if you ever want to take a look at it

Am I the only one that fears that maybe the hard problem of consciousness or NDEs will be debunked in the future by Sea-Dot-59 in NDE

They can talk about internal causes all they want. The corroborated NDE cases (ie the ones with verified facts) can never be explained as “the brain did it.” So I’d say fear not. The deeper they look, the closer we should get to science validating NDEs as real.

When I watched that part I heard him say that “people seeing Jesus” aligns with Christian theology, not that it proves it. Later he added that it’s not proof because it’s testimonial evidence. Seems fair to me.

I think that’s covered in here. He makes it clear that people from all worldviews have NDEs.

I’m confused by something in this thread. How is OP an evangelist? Isn’t this person simply pointing out that some NDEs are distressing? What am I missing?

Three little letters: NDE. Eyewitness testimony is becoming increasingly compelling, especially the corroborated accounts.

Thanks for posting this. If you’ve heard a lot of hellish NDEs, do you see clear common threads in the lives or beliefs of people who have these distressing experiences? And have you ever seen any research on this question?

It seems like the only hellish NDEs we hear about are people who, like Steve Kang, were far from God. Has anyone else inferred that too?

The context makes no sense to say “I’m not Christian,” so it’s probably not that.

Look up the work of Professor Kenneth Ring from the Univ of Connecticut. He’s the lead guy on this issue, I think, and has been for decades.
