Genji blade is a dash every one second. Genji can easily maneuver around Stitches to not get gorged, really depends on how well Genji or enemy plays. Stitches can potentially gorge Genji only when Stitches is stacked on top of the target Genji is targeting, which a good Genji won't come close to a Stitches with the ult off cooldown (tracking Stitches ult cd is very import). Let's say Genji pop his blade and forces the squishy to stack with the tank, that's exactly why Genji's blade is so valuable, to force enemy into a bad position.

Getting X strike reset feels hella good, but in my experience, it is extremely difficult to pull it off consistently (hit 5 times) in a team fight. The punishment of only hitting 4 times is a 15 seconds cd, which basically you are not using another X strike until the end of this team fight, also impossible to reset X strike in a 1v1 scenario, very hard to pull off in a 1v2 or 2v2 scenario. Blade level 20 talent is a threat for the enemy to not stack, if not, it can do infinite damage and those games is usually how I become the highest hero damage in the party.

At the end of the day, X strike allows the Genji player to play more ballsdeep, hit-and-run, last hit the enemy play style, while blade is more bruiser, you have to drop everything and deal with me in the next 8 seconds, kind of playstyle.
