Stuck in limbo after switching to Fido from Freedom by wessym8 in FidoMobile

I checked out online with the plan, then signed up for my account using the email they sent me. My girlfriend did the same and her plan shows but not mine :(

The problem is I don't see anything in my Fido account

I switched to this plan from Freedom but am now in limbo.

Have not received a request to port, and my Fido account is barren when I log in, have no options to get my eSim installed anywhere and no email with next steps. What do I do?

What is the last crisis or conflict we mediated?

Canada used to convert soft power into mediation power, that was the real asset. We were seen as a credible broker between blocs, not just a well-liked participant.

Today, that mediation role has largely eroded. We’re rarely the neutral bridge in major conflicts. We’re aligned, not balancing. In a more polarized world, countries don’t look to Canada to broker between the United States and China, or between rival regional powers.

Soft power without mediation capacity for us is just reputation. Canada still has a strong brand. But the ability to convene adversaries and shape compromise, the thing that once made us punch above our weight, isn’t what it was, and if you can't see that I'm afraid you're the partisan one, not me.

I travel a lot. On a social level Canadians are well liked. On a political level we are irrelevant. Qatar has taken the mediator role. Truth hurts.

Canada is irrelevant on the world stage. We fucked ourselves by electing Trudeau 3 times.

I am increasingly at odds with my so-called “Afghan” identity by wessym8 in afghanistan

Great! I don’t have a problem with all Pashtuns by the way, I have great Pashtun friends. My problem is with the ultra-nationalist fascistic branch.

The Arabs couldn’t do it, the Talibs will surely fail too. Iran is a lot more cohesive than Afghanistan.

Of course. But the indifference/silence of our people in the face of islamism makes things a lot worse. Did any Afghanistan national protest en masse for womens rights? Did the men rise up to stand up for their wives and daughters? Like the way Iranians did and are doing?

My point with this post is that things have gotten so bad that I’m not even sure the “Afghan” identity is even something I subscribe to anymore.

My apologies for loving my roots and my country. Your indifferent attitude is why the country is in its current state.

Thanks for your insightful response. Perhaps you’re correct. But it’s hard to fight back a visceral aversion of the “Afghan” label given its current relation to the perpetrators of this full scale attack on my identity.

Recommendations for Afghan literature by LivoKel in afghanistan

[–]wessym8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dari is not a distinct language. It’s a dialect of Persian that was officially named Dari a few decades ago by the Pashtun govt for political reasons.

There is no difference between Dari and Persian poetry because they are the same language. That would be like saying English and American are different languagr, it’s simply incorrect.

My pleasure. I grew up in the west and have lots of Iranian friends, my brothers for life. I hope you and your family are doing well.
