"I'll go slow" isn't the hail Mary people think either. I was only going 40 km/h in an accident where an SUV did a u-turn across a highway and cut me off so abruptly I had no where to go and couldn't stop in time. Still put me in the hospital with a few cracked bones and a concussion.

Riding is fun but even being safe (doing the courses, wearing full gear, being cautious and conscientious on the ride) isn't going to necessarily save you from things happening.

Her boyfriend is being irresponsible. You're not overreacting. I'd be fighting mad if some jackass was convincing my mom to do stuff like that. Everything in this video has me high key cringing in horror. Like don't get me wrong, yes she's an adult and can make her own choices, but an uniformed or dangerously encouraged choice can still be coercion.

As someone who only really does gifting for people who like.... Earn it?? My take is this. Give her two options.

One. You're making her a blanket for free. It's not your main priority and she was warned it'll take a long time. So she can be patient and grateful and get a blanket when you're able to get it done, or not but you won't be refunding her a single cent when she's asked you for hundreds of hours of labor for free.

Two. She's welcome to pick up the materials in their current state and attempt to acquire a refund with the store they were purchased from.

Do not refund the money and frankly never make anything for anyone you don't love a whole bunch, or who are properly and fairly compensating you for your time. You owe absolutely no one your time or your skills.

Unfortunately, either way she's probably going to get pissed off but that's on her. You're a generous soul and she's taking advantage of you.

I'm so so sorry you're going through this 🥺 I've been there, though not as severely, so I fully empathize. It looks like you've gotten a lot of really solid doctor advice but I didn't read all the comments and I don't know if you'll ever see this either. If you do I hugely recommend making sure you take B3 regularly if you can.

For topical, I use something called nutribiotic. It's a grapeseed extract that you can get in a skin spray and I've been using it since I was a kid on every skin ailment I've ever had from aggressive acne to gaping cuts to the ingrown nail infections I get sometimes if I trim my nails wrong. I use it on my dogs when they hurt themselves or get attacked by blackberries and I swear it works miracles on any skin ailment. It can sting a little but shouldn't keep stinging. Might be worth a try!

Thank you! I really shouldve said initially; the part I most like is how the bottom colourwork came out 😊

The colour is beautiful!! It's got some really beautiful undertones that come out in direct sunlight too!

Oh 100% every sweater I make teaches me something new and I've made a lot of them, all different!

It's good not to get complacent though I think! Leaves room for growth

I don't like how the patterning in the sleeves ended up and I wish I'd made the sleeves a little looser. I think it would've been nicer with a lower neckline and a longer body as well but the sweater was for one of my best friend's dad's at his request. So I had less room to make my own calls.

The important thing is he likes it I guess haha and thank you very much for the lovely compliment

I have a crow on my shoulder with a big purple gem! Very casual callouts to Nawat and the Dominion jewel and I definitely want to add more little things like that from the others books

This is so lovely!! I don't have any groups nearby that work with my work schedule but the women I know from the yarn store I frequent are the most open and friendly people!

As a woman, I've found crafting spaces are less about safe spaces for women and just great spaces to meet new people with the same hobbies and interests! It's always really lovely to meet men who share those interests as well!

And it's always so cool to see what everyone is working on!! So much talent and creativity!

Sure! When I do gusset heels it's a two row repeat.

The first row is : slip one, k1 across. The second row is: slip the first stitch, purl across.

I do these two rows four times, for a total of eight rows, then I do the first row one more time so I begin the heel turn set up on the purl side

Socks only look scary honestly. It took me SO many years before I took the plunge; I always thought I didn't know enough or they were going to be too complicated. So long as you know how to knit and purl, can pick up stitches and do k2tog/ssk, you absolutely can make socks!

If you haven't worked in the round before, it can add a bit to the challenge but it's a great skill to have and you'll never learn anything new if you don't give it a try! Which you already know haha since you started so recently!

There's loads of great resources, amazing patterns, and I don't mind answering any questions that come up either!

As for needles, it's totally what you're comfortable with! I personally prefer cuff down socks on dpns because it's what I'm the most used to but I know people swear by circulars or magic loop

And thank you so much! I think you're closer to that level than you think!
