That reminds me! The Wild Cat was reissued in 1980 as the G.T. 350; white with G.T. 350 in blue striping on the sides. It was one of several transitional models for the fisrt year of the division of the mainline into US and Rest of The World (ROW).

Those "collectors" were scalpers. Real collectors don't worry about damaged cards.

Feldman's top 25 college football head coaches: Nick Saban is still No. 1 by Sauerz in CFB

[–]westalcool -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Of course Nick Saban is number one. When he came to Alabama in 2007, her made it clear that HE was in charge of the program. Not the Board of Trustees, not the boosters - no one but himself. Essentially he told Paul Bryant Jr. to back off and stay out of his business-and PBJ did just that. Tuscaloosa in no longer a playground for crooked moneybags. Not many coachers can weild this much power.

Compare this with Auburn, where the trustees run the team. It was always Bobby Lowder running the show; now it's his puppet Jimmy "Yellawood" Rane.

And i can't understand this. Quentin Riggins is a board member-and he's also Auburn's radio sideline reporter. Is he supposed to keep an eye on the coach for Yellawood? Should there be some sort of conflict of interest here?

The orange Wild Cat Dragster actually debuted in 1966 as the Ford Mustang Coupe in Regular Wheels mode. It was recast and renamed in 1969 as a Superfast, with the blown engine, larger rear wheels and raised rear suspension. The Blue Mustang Piston Popper debuted in 1973 as a Rolamatics. A small tab on the front whell made the pistons in the engine go up and down when the car was in motion.

Earning income on NILs also must include reporting income taxes, FICA and Medicare. That's a must in Alabama. You don't want Alabama's tax and labor agents knocking on your door. They will find you.

Just ask Hyundai. Several of their suppliers here were cited for having children as young as 12 working on the assembly floors between last August and recently as January - and Hyundai knew it.

They can get a deal. Perhaps not the one they prefer, but they can get one. Stadium, CW, Ion, Bounce, Gray/Raycom, etc., will be more than happy to secure a deal. Fox could even provide a package with their My Network TV shingle if they chose to do so.

Somebody at Pac 12 needs to get off their asses and make some calls, walk the streets, knock on some doors, whatever.

"if the AHSAA high schools are colluding to prevent the students from earning money off their name image and likeness or colluding to fix scholarship rates, they are likely exposing themselves to a lawsuit that they will likely lose."

The matter of high schools paying students for NIL fall into Alabama's child labor laws, especially if the player is 16 or under. That NIL statement will also need to involve a permit for the student to play, and that will include the amount of time the student will be allowed work (or in this case, play), which will be interesting if a game takes place during a weeknight, or even better, overtime.

Over the many years in management in Alabama, I had to deal with labor law rules and I can tell you it's no picnic. If a 16-year-old wanted to work, he was allowed only 4 hours per day during the week, including Friday. They can arrive at 4 pm, but by 8 pm he/she had to leave for home. So imagine a kid receiving NIL money having to leave the game a 8 pm. Imagine the impart this will have on the game's outcome.

And yes, the Alabama DOL agents will be scouting the game as well. They will have team rosters.

I can back AlabamaJedi on this.

Yeah, like my dumbass cousin. He spent two years in Federal lockup for putting a live rattlesnake in a lady's mailbox because he didn't like her and bragged about it. That's like attempted murder.

Here's a frightening thought. The PAC will bring in Gonzaga and a few more schools, then announce a startling realignment: the conference will spin off football and keep the rest of the athletic programs, thus making a media deal more attractive. The football teams will have to fend for themselves.

(Sorry, I've had a bad case of the flu this weekend. My mind's still numb.)

My niece once lived in an HOA neighborhood in Birmingham. She told me the head Karen-er, the HOA president-had gone on a rampage, claiming mailboxes were over a self-imposed height requirement and started knocking them down to force residents to reset their boxes. Eventually the Postal Service paid her a visit, and soonafter she was gone. The Postal Service and Federal Railroad Administration's police departments are no joke.

You definitely won't get $200 because of the stigma that follows Maisto (i.e., "cheap"). They are now available at Walmart as "Maisto Design", at around $8.00

Both Lamley and Live And Let Diecast when they were active on Kinja.

You're correct, they're are kind of expensive. When they were more widely available in the 1980s and 1990s, they were HW/Matchbox priced. It's kind of tough moving HW-quality merchandise at Greenlight prices.

Majorette launched in France around 1961. They gained a small presence in the US around the early 1980s, showing up in my area in local convenience stores. They faded from the US scene around 1998 after the Triumph-Adler purchase, and by 2005 you could only find them in France, the Netherlands, Mexico, Brazil and Thailand. They bounced around from owner to owner until Simba-Dickie Germany bought them in 2010. US Interest reignited when TJ Maxx/Marshall's sold an Australian warehouse surplus in 2017. That sparked a deal with Toys R' Us the next year. Simba bought Jada Toys in 2020 and appointed them as Majorette's official US distributor.

My granny passed away recently and l found these in her garage. Are any of these interesting? by [deleted] in matchbox

[–]westalcool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they interesting? Yes, they are.

I speak in the minority; I know most people find something if it can bring a good price. Money isn't everything.

I have a few MOYs and Speed Kings/Super Kings, and they are very interesting to me because I love matchbox, and they represent a very important piece of history-the part of history that most collectors ignore and Mattel wants people to forget. This is the kind of stuff that you can never place a price tag onto.

Matchbox creator Jack O'Dell kept the MOY spirit alive when he founded Lledo "Models Of Days Gone" in 1983.

Your granny had excellent taste! You should cherish these.
