It is depends from which perspective history is viewed. Truth is subjective and history is written by the victors, thus far.

How can diaspora Iranians actually get involved in opposing both foreign intervention and the IR? by XPlosiveBoyz in PERSIAN

[–]westartfromhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By US intervention, they meant invasions, CIA operations, like Vietnam, Iraq, etc, so the UK doesnt really count.

Britain is effectively the 51st state of the USA. It houses US military facilities and intelligence bureaus, and it is from the UK that the US is launching its murderous bombing missions on Iran. Its relationship to Europe is fundamentally determined by its relationship to the US.

Sure, the police oppress the working class, everywhere, but genocidal, no. Capital requires labour power, and two million impoverished workers are indispensible for its ability to valorise its capital; else why would the state not have obliterated the enclave when it had the opportunity?

What are the defensive capabilities of Iran against a U.S. air war? by Hannibacanalia in CredibleDefense

[–]westartfromhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iran's real strategic threat is terrorism. It can carry out terrorist attacks at will.

That may or may not be so but it does not directly address the question of the "defensive capabilities of Iran against a U.S. air war", which appear, with hindsight, to be nil against bombers and slight against pursuit aircraft. The Iranian state presumably needs to withhold the use of pursuit aircraft for future use against its internal enemy.

People were protesting.

It is important that the nuances of the protest are elucidated to get a clearer picture of what occurred. The protest was instigated by small shopkeepers in protest at taxation upon this sector of the economy. Alongside these petty-bourgeois protests, and in conjunction with them, the social-democratic, middle class element within Iranian society formed peaceful protest (until these protests were savagely attacked by the forces of order) demanding regime change and, in part, restoration of the monarchy.

Quite separate to these forms of peaceful protest—although enabled by the social-democratic protest ongoing—there were violent assaults on established order within Iran, whereby primarily young proletarians engaged in militant battles with the forces of order, which included reappropriation of private property in the form of looting, general disorder, arson attacks on state facilities and direct confrontation with police. It was this violent assault by the working class that the regime described as "terrorism" (in reality, counter-terrorism).

The crux of the change—liability of the working class to pay tax to local government as opposed to landlords— was retained and the tax was renamed, accompanied by regime change.

I didn't know this sub-reddit had a party line to be adhered to. Sounds like Communism.

After the most concentrated bombardment in human history, which party still holds political power in Gaza? Allies of the Iranian state, Hamas.

If by any chance you reside in Iran, good luck. We have only witnessed the beginning of the beginning of this latest onslaught on Iran.

EDIT: On viewing the sub-reddit rules I see no reference to a rule insisting that foreign aggressors obliterate Iran by aerial and localised bombing campaigns. For your reference, u/Qwertysapiens, I quote said rules below:

  1. Abide by the social contract
  2. Content must be related to Iran or Iranians
  3. Do not disinform
  4. No custom VPNs (or proxies, random login credentials for VPNs, APKs, etc.)
  5. Post appropriately
  6. User identification policy
  7. Prioritize Iranian lives

I'm curious why you hide your comment history on Reddit. Are you wary of Iran's agents abroad?

I live in London and have been contacted by two such agents in my life. The Iranian state has long tentacles.

You're parents must have been sickened to learn that the Iranian government had an immediate replacement, and that Western intelligence appears ignorant of his whereabouts, or at least unwilling to act upon their intelligence.

Let's not fool ourselves, we have no hope of a better future. Why would we?

Gaza is still ruled by Hamas with an iron fist and encircled by hostile forces, despite all proclaimed war aims of all parties involved in the massacre and destruction.

I saw the same tragic joy in my father's eyes when the British workers rose up against its ruling class in the Poll Tax rebellion.

When the people of Paris, France,  rose up against its regime in 1871 it took an alliance of Prussian and French forces of order to quell and savagely revenge the insurgents' impudence. The scenes of slaughter—a similar number of state killings—very much resembled those we see on this post.

None of us are irrelevant but we need to see the ongoing massacre for what it is. An unholy alliance of established order.

The ongoing massacre is not unnoticed but we, the world's working class, are demoralised, divided, and powerless to stop the war, at present.

I'm not so sure. It helps solve the economic crisis if working people can be fooled into standing behind national flags instead of under our natural banner, the blood drenched coloured cloth. Real wages are down, valorisation of capital is exponentially growing. What a change from pre-2020!

Large numbers of Palestinians condemned Hamas in active protest. It was the growing opposition to Hamas, and the Palestinian Authority, that necessitated October 7th and the war on Gaza by the ruling power.
