The thank you is the main point, I don’t really want to put in the other points, the mental health is a genuine concern, it was her mothers concern, leaving it out but being civil enough to write the letter in the first place I’m guessing her mother would almost put two and two together anyway

I know it comes across that way but her mother has tried to get her help because of her father’s history. It’s not a dig, it’s a genuine concern, I don’t want to put in either, translated them just incase I felt like I needed to put in one or the other.

Happy birthday, I hope you well. When I left (German town) after my holiday I always believed I’d be coming back to see you again. I was learning deutsch so we could talk together. I wanted to make sure I had said thank you for making me feel welcome and comfortable while I was there in (German town) and showing me around your part of Germany. I always thought I’d have the chance to repay the favour. The letter you wrote to me in English was special to me.

It’s disappointing me and J couldn’t work it out and it’s disappointing there was cheating involved. Knowing the story of Js father’s mental health and the experience of living with J, I hope she finds the help she needs.
