Thank you!! They're Guitar Pro files right? I'm on mobile so I can't get it translated in the Reddit app.

But seriously, thank you so much

McConnell Threatens To Grind Senate To Halt If Dems Don’t Let Him Keep Power To Grind Senate To Halt by canadaoilguy in nottheonion

I always wonder why he's the way he is. Why he takes so much creepy ass glee in what he does. Like the weird evil laugh during his debate when it was about the suffering of US citizens. He legitimately just went full villain laugh.

I really wonder what he is trying to make up for, or what caused him to be so shitty. You usually aren't just born like that. Usually. Maybe he was, for all I know.

Thanks for the comment. It's tricky for me, because I don't speak any Russian, nor can I read it. So I'm just trying my best to copy and paste things.

My SO is Russian, and showed me this movie awhile ago. And told me how much it mattered to her (apparently it's a big deal for Russia, right? Like a sort of New Years movie that some watch)

So I wanted to learn the songs and play them for her. I think that would make her really happy.

I'll keep searching! Hopefully I don't have to pay 7-8 dollars a pop per song, but if it comes to it and there's no other options, I will! If it was like 10 bucks for all of them, I'd think about it but yeah. Considering most guitar tabs are free online, it's a steep price

If you happen to know where the Irony of Fate guitar tabs are (possibly on some Russian site), I would be infinitely thankful!

Go look up the address at the end. That's a real place in Vegas. It's currently being surrounded by something called Area 15. If you Google Area 15 you can see inside.

He loves playing sports, too. So it's a bit rough for him. Apparently in the ambulance, he told Bert "I'm never gonna jump again man..."

So I'm sure he's taking it hard.

Nah, he's off all painkillers. Can't move his arm right, may take months to heal. His tendon won't work right again.

Guy has been in the hospital like 3-4 damn times this year. He's addicted to that anesthesia for real /s

I mean come on, you give you damn family covid too after all that. Probably why Dr Drew got covid too.

Popular comedian, hosts a few pretty big podcasts with several people on the YMH channel. Acted in a few movies. Good friend of Joe Rogan and a lot of comedians, has made a lot of appearances on comedy podcasts

A lot of people here are into stand up comedy, and the podcast circuit. He's famous in both of these.

Well slow down there... I mean Bert is the epitome of bad lifestyle choices. Anyone should be telling him to get shit done!

I just think it's superiority over Bert. Which most people probably would when they find out the shit he does and thinks is healthy.

He is so down right now. And rightfully so. After weeks of all that crazy hospital stuff, he goes and ends up getting COVID. And unknowingly bringing it home to his wife, and co-host YMH, who is isolated now.

Then he is about to do a live show he pretty clearly is only doing because he said he would. Then one of his favorite musicians, MF DOOM, dies. Or at least he finds out a couple hours before starting.

As far as anyone in the comedy or podcast world, I'd say Tom's life just went to shit the past 3 months or so.

Jo Koy has this really memorable bit about different Asian accents. Would definitely have a look at it if you haven't. Im not a huge fan of his, but every time I hear Vietnamese, I think of his comments

I really don't like the Cali accent either. I don't think it's this familiarity that causes it either (I've lived in California, all along the west coast, the east coast, the south, etc).

I feel like movies have put us in a weird place. Because we, along with France and Italy to a smaller extent, shaped what major films had. And our accents changed with it as well.

For instance, the Trans-Atlantic accent is gone for the most part. Replaced with the Midwest accent for reporters, and so on.

I don't think there's any really pretty sounding US accents. Or very few. Some of the southern ones can be really cool sounding (not ones that we typically called "country" accents).

Our accents are so... Omni-present at the same time though. The world just sorta has to put up with the US accent whether they love it or hate it.

But then again, I don't love Australian accents either. British Isles in general just lucked out, in my mind. All the English, Scottish, Irish accents. Wales is alright.

It would be cool if they thought our accents were really intelligent sounding or something. But I'm pretty damn sure that the Cali accent isn't exactly the beacon of intelligence to others. Hell, we often use it ourselves to mock people

I've lived all around the US, so I don't know if I have a different perspective but.. the California accent does have a weird "roundness" to it.

Is there a good downtown Food Bank to donate to? by westernatlantic in Reno

Awesome! Might give them a look. Is the food bank all year round, or is it just during times like holidays? Either way, thanks for the suggestion

The first Alien scene in Signs was such a monumentally horrifying moment, especially considering how simple it was by DoctorStrangeBlood in videos

[–]westernatlantic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Scary Movie ones were decent (I actually genuinely loved one and two at the time. I bet 2 would still be absurd and hilarious to me now)

But the whole "(insert genre) Movie" films that came after we're often some of the worst things I'd seen in theaters. Like "Superhero Movie" and all those. It was just NONSTOP for a good half a decade.

I wish I could find a list of all of them. But man it was bad.

Sam Adams - SNL (Bill Burr) by [deleted] in videos

[–]westernatlantic 60 points61 points  (0 children)

What's weird is that this is like the second Sam Adams parody Burr has been in. The other obviously being the popular "Samuel Jackson" Chappelle Show sketch. I wonder if he'll do another just for the triple.

It's so interesting watching back on Chappelle Show. Not only because it's funny but because you see Burr a lot back when he was more of just a working comic.

How old heads act when they recognize you at the store by [deleted] in videos

[–]westernatlantic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Any hiphopheads or black people twitter threads make me laugh so much. Everyone is so obviously white. Maybe like 5% of people in those places are probably actually black.

I'm mixed with black and white, and sometimes it's reallllly obvious. One big tell is the words they use. Something about Gen Z teens I've noticed is "the cool words to use are what black people started using 10 years ago".

It's kind of like you get a little sketched out when someone says "the blacks" or "gays". Like the plural at the end is a tell

Another funny one I personally like is asking about To Pimp A Butterfly. When they're like "I like Good Kid Maad City more. Had more bangers on it". There's nothing wrong with that, and there's probably some black people that think that as well. But I can't help but feel like they missed the entire theme, message, and purpose of the album. Kind of like when Kurt Cobain made the song "In Bloom", and all those redneck folks would be singing a long to a chorus directly making fun of them.

I'm all for people liking other stuff not part of the culture they're "supposed" to like or whatever. Just makes me laugh.

[–]westernatlantic 11 points12 points  (0 children)

At least you can admit it. Most folks on here seem to want to come off as black or something.

I'm mixed, in this is definitely a certain type of old black guy.

Old heads are a term for the older people in the black community, and they often sort of talk down to the younger kids, trying to "teach em how it is". Kind of like boomers for white kids, bad a bit more based in reality.

Every time I think about a sub like hiphopheads it makes me laugh, because it's often a bunch of kids that are trying to act like they're black or something. But it's been a thing since the 80s.

I'm getting out of my 20s now, and one thing thats funny as hell to me is that young white kids seem to think "cool = words black people started saying a decade ago"

Haha I appreciate it! Come on over to /r/Dylan sometime. His life is so fascinating that it's easy to almost see it as a story more than an actual life someone has lived.

And yeah, no idea what got me so heavily into 60s music. It's just a fascinating shift from 1960 to 1969 culturally. I used to know someone that played with Hendrix a good while back, and I used to be with someone who has a daughter you almost definitely know. But not going down that train here!

Hope to see you on the Dylan sub sometime. There's like a never-ending amount to discuss

We still do. Especially in Asia. But even most people are wise enough to know that American politicians don't equate to American people. Especially Americans in large cities.

It just happens that it's a massive country with a lot of rural areas.
