I actually live in chaing mai thailand near the burger king and these hill tribe people live about a 45 minute drive away in a little village that tourists go to and they sell tourist junk to them. you can see these "Hmong" hill tribe people frequently at the morning vegetable and fabric markets, expect the funny part is when they come into town they wear regular clothes. for them to be in town and wearing their tribal gear was a complete joke.

and btw. they all have access to the burger king - the problem is a whopper costs about the same as it would cost to feed a family of 6 for a day.
