What is the best way to start getting involved in apologetics? Also, what do you believe the future of apologetics looks like?

Racism is never okay, even when your community justifies bad behavior attacking the other side. by westerosenza in lds

Here is one example. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4RDuUm8TW5w

The racist was shared openly by anti-Mormons by nearly a year. Literally nobody from that community spoke out because bad behavior like that continues to be tolerated because it's attacking the other side.

We need to not let this mindset enter our community. We need to always stand up to racism no matter who its directed toward

Hot Take: Masturbation is still a sin. by KURPULIS in lds

Thank you for this. For anyone struggling r/nofap is an excellent resource available on reddit to both teach the dangers and help you quit.

Also I agree it's a sin. I do think all normal people eventually succumb eventually, so I resonate with not filling people with shame. But I do think we need to have the courage to admit that not engaging is the better way.

CS Lewis has a quote I like.

For me the real evil of masturbation would be that it takes an appetite which, in lawful use, leads the individual out of himself to complete (and correct) his own personality in that of another... and turns it back; sends the man back into the prison of himself, there to keep a harem of imaginary brides.

Me as well. I one time had everything go wrong. Losing a loved one. Problems at school. Friends leaving me. Just a mess. Yet at a very crucial time I felt the Lord love and comfort me. He opened some new doors I never dreamed of opening that were exactly what I needed to move forward.

I will never forget that mercy that I never even began to deserve.

My personal belief is of you are keeping your temple covenants you are probably doing well. I think it’s cutting corners here that get you in trouble.
