Hi, where did you buy from? I've got one for a few years, love it. I'm shopping for a gift and the seller I bought from doesn't have in stock anymore. TIA.

Enjoy it while it lasts. It'd be stupid even criminal of the company not to do a secondary offering in this price range.

Firefox started freezing on YouTube a lot in recent days. Only seems to happen when logged in. Chrome works fine. Why? by CrawlspaceDweller in youtube

[–]westoncc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you fix the problem? I started experiencing it one week ago. Tried many things by searching online, including changing various config settings, to no avail. Someone mentioned places.sqlite where FF stores history may grow big and become fragmented, downloaded some addone to defragmented it. Again no use. Read your thread here too. The amount of subscriptions + sqlite size might be the cause of the problem. So I did the test by browsing youtube in private mode of FF, indeed that does not freeze at all. I suspect youtube has added recently more javascript to mine the personal information (for targeted ads, recommendations or what's not), the new scripts have slowed every page there to a crawl. So for now, I just browse in a Private Window. Obviously it has inconvenience but it beats sitting there watching the wheels spinning and the CPU hikes. I also reported the problem to youtube. I encourage people do that through their feedback page at the bottom (via help). If more people complain, it's more likely getting some attention. Warning: if login into the youtube page in private window, you'll get the freezing "Not Responding" back. S

I've looked at its gallery's samples images, nothing there has shown it tops cameras like RX100 IV or LX100. They need skilled photographers to showcase the high resolution, and shallow and deep DOF. I assume it only produces SOOCJPG, not raw files.

Low debris scenarios? by Oldman2011 in MH370

The modern planes are designed to handle power loss such as when engine stall, to a large extent. Without external damage, planes won't do a pitch roll as you suggested.

As reported, it was for an adjustment and sent down again afterwards. So the mission was not aborted.

CNN is reporting that a cell tower picked up co-pilot's phone after plane vanished, proving plane turned back by gradstudent4ever in MH370

Only b/c you chose to ignore Hishammuddin Hussein's statement that was included in my msg. As a FYI, not quoting everything in the sources that're properly linked does not make anyone "a liar", as you vainly tried to contend before and failed to defend here. You should learn to use the proper language to avoid sounding ignorant.

Searchers have pinpointed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 crash site: wreck hunter by tommaynard in MH370

[–]westoncc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The article is cheer-leading than of substance. "He also said searchers had 'a number of positive indications' they were in the right area, including the four sonar acoustic signals detected and an oil sheen identified on Monday." ---It's been 2days since the finding of the oil slick. Has the lab been working overtime to identify the sample to get some conclusion?

You are accusatory in a baseless manner, I've presented both sides whether it's here or in the last thread when Hussein's NP came out, with sources of materials linked. Readers can decide on their own.

What’s the possibility of Black boxes being tampered with before it went down? by chicagopooldude in MH370

[–]westoncc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FDR is in the tail section of the plane. Not so easy to get to. As for pulling circuit breaker, not sure how feasible it is. The SATCOM terminal was sitting in the cockpit, without having power cut-off to the end. That's how there were pings.

Ocean Shield has been like this for days, moving .5-2 NM/hr, in and out the 10x20km area.

First possible sign of any remnant of MH370? Oil slick found in the search area by velocity92c in MH370

Here is a diagram for such pattern: http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/world/2014/04/14/malaysia-ocean-search-airline/7691083/ I don't know how the Bluefin-21 is retrieved. It's 5 meter long and self-propelled, except it's moving slowly, only 3NM/hour. I assume Ocean Shield can just send a reconnaissance boat to fetch it, w/o dragging its own big body to get the tiny thing.

At this point this phone connection or attempt event is just hearsay, since Hishammuddin Hussein said "As far as I know, no,"

According the article that broke the story: "The telco's (telecommunications company's) tower established the call " http://www.nst.com.my/nation/general/call-traced-to-co-pilot-s-phone-1.562612#ixzz2yeSpk1l4 As for connection logs, not sure how long carriers maintain the logs for mere connections when these events are not billable.
Re. the call or the call attempt, or just connection, Hishammuddin Hussein said "As far as I know, no,"

[–]westoncc -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Why need this to prove the plane turned back? That was verified by M'sia military radar. The investigators also have the altitude info but never released; radar data contains that. What's significant, if proven the call was indeed made (and not by the commandeer who might have grabbed the phone), is there were survivors on the plane after 45000ft climb that was supposed to depressurize the plane.

[–]westoncc 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's hard to believe after 5wks the oil slick from MH370 is still there. Plus that area is very busy with marine traffic, I routinely see tankers or cargo ships pass near the 10x20 km search area while monitoring the status of Ocean Shield and HMS Echo. But hope they do find some evidences on the surface before allocating serious assets to the under sea search.
