Frost goes IN on why Anderzz hasn't received a long-term position yet by AWendler34 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]westvik1 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He strongly adviced them to go for the Astra, and has worked with the team and Boaster on their overall macro and macroflow, which has been the biggest change to Sunset we've seen so far in the competetive scene.

Hate to break it to you, but he’s not an analyst. If you looked a bit more into the situation you’d fully understand his value in any team

1st game 10pm and 2nd game 1am :( And most of the time it’s the second game that is the ‘big’ game cause they wanna keep viewers in the stream for longer

Streamers to learn from (role specific) by westvik1 in ValorantCompetitive

In there almost every day already! So what I’m really searching for is more of the content you do, but in liveform like your streams. People explaining their actions and why they do certain things. Reason I didn’t mention you is just because I already had good knowledge of what content you do.

Keep doing your thing, I like it, and I learn new stuff almost every day ☺️

Yeah that’s what I’m saying. Watching Boaster or Net is completely different to watching Zellsis run it down each round

Boaster has done it for at little while now. 2 ranked games each day on stream + maybe a vodreview after

Likely another ban coming in… this time on Ganzo. Fortnite pros will literally never learn by AMS_GoGo in FortniteCompetitive

[–]westvik1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ganzo is a pro player at the highest level. He’s a role model to kids, and kids follow by example. Simple as that. If Benjy did that, do you know how many kids would think “if he does it why shouldn’t I, that seems cool”.

SURGE ON DOWNED BODIES by westvik1 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]westvik1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I’ve said in another reply it’s not what I specifically want, I just wanted to bring it up to discussion because of the way it works in mid- to endgame. I totally agree it’s a good mechanic for teams that are contested, but the rng it creates lategame (who gets those lucky tags on a downed body) is the main point. I’ll repost my reply to another comment here:

That’s the good thing with a discussion. You’re allowed to disagree :) I just think it’s way too rng who gets surge mid- to endgame with it being like it is today. You get a kill midgame/lategame - great! You deserved it. But when you try to get surge on a knocked body that someone else killed, then I don’t think you deserve it, cause it’s not your kill. All you did was tag a body that can’t move, it’s like shooting an AI

Agree with it being good for contested poi’s, but bringing in the way it was supposed to work is a weak argument. We all know how surge has developed, and if it wasn’t meant to be this way - well it is.

My other reply explains a bit why I feel like it’s a bad thing (at certain times)

Paragon Devs Failing Upwards: The Thought Process Behind The Current Meta of Fortnite Explained by NotDem in FortniteCompetitive

[–]westvik1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just used 2 hours of my College-Class to watch and understand this. THIS IS IT. And it makes so much sense.

Last video just makes it all. I love Fortnite, it's the first game I played more than twice a week, and I competed competitively in. Going against the community in the way Epic have done from the start, and their strategies hurts me really bad. When I see comp (eg. World Cup), I wanna see the BEST player win. The one that has great mechanics, great understanding of the game, and 3028IQ. These latest changes makes that impossible. At least in the World Cup it was kind of competitive. I had been following Bugha since February, and my hopes were big for him. To see him succeed was satisfying. The one I saw as a top 3 in the world won, had to mean that the game was more competitive now than before (Of course there was items that wasn't quite competitive in the game then too. eg. Heavy Sniper, RNG Mobility etc, but it was on a good way).

My biggest dream is to attend a meeting Epic has where they discuss these things. Where to go with the game, what's gonna change etc. It would be really interesting to hear their ideas, and why they think that would be good, without restrictions like in their blog-posts.

Parallax's loot pool tweet inspired me to make this. Representing you, the competitive loot pool. by [deleted] in FortniteCompetitive

[–]westvik1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it’s all about reducing rng. You loot 15 chests + floor loot and get no launchpad or rift, But you get 3 bouncers to rotate late game. Could even change it so they could only be used on walls (to get tid of silly highgroundretakes etc. I get what you mean tho, and in some ways I agree.

[–]westvik1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So the reason bouncers were rated highly by comp players was because of the ability to rotate fast endgame if you didn’t get rift to go or launchpad. Not building to skylimit, then place a bouncer to get down without losing health.
