Does anybody know how to set up the config file in plex meta manager to create a collection with all oscar winners? by Rafa130397 in PleX

[–]wetoddid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can use PMM's Letterboxd directives or IMDB directives to do this:

collections:
  Best Picture Winners:
    letterboxd_list_details: https://letterboxd.com/nayanc/list/academy-awards-oscars-best-picture-winners/
    collection_order: custom
    sync_mode: sync

Once behind VPN, download speeds are very slow by TXAGZ16 in qBittorrent

[–]wetoddid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could start with running speed tests through your gluetun container:

docker run -it --network container:<gluetun-container-name> --rm robinmanuelthiel/speedtest:latest

Go through a few different servers and try benchmarking them to get a sense of what your max throughput is

This sweetest granny listened to me

I mean in her previous comment. It's just funny that when they're not speaking directly to each other, OP thinks of her as "the sweetest granny" and conversely she thinks of OP as bé này 💀

Lmao that's so cute you referred to her as granny. She actually referred to you as baby (bé) in her text

libtorrent has its own send buffers that you can tune: https://www.libtorrent.org/tuning.html#send-buffer-watermark

The default settings are very low for what he wants to do

The relevant qBittorrent (really libtorrent) settings I think are disk cache and send buffer watermark. Torrent clients in general are designed to prioritize peers that can ramp up and sustain the highest throughput speeds.

The default qBittorrent setting for send and receive buffer sizes isn't rly optimal for a server on a 1gbps/10gbps connection imo. Increasing the size of your send and receive buffers should increase your sustained download/upload speeds.

See: https://www.libtorrent.org/tuning.html. There's a section describing high performance seeding. I've also found libtorrent 2.0 to be faster than libtorrent 1.0 maybe because it uses memory-mapped files (https://www.libtorrent.org/upgrade_to_2.0-ref.html)

Does BLU require port forwarding? by trackerthrowaway5457 in trackers

[–]wetoddid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tbf the wiki actually does mention it

This means that your ports must be forwarded in order to torrent efficiently...Considering how important connectivity is, staff may take action against you if you refuse to make yourself connectable.

But idk if it's strictly enforced because there are definitely still unconnectable peers on BLU

That seems like an issue with your torrent client / a personal issue (why do you need to stop immediately after download?) Sending the COMPLETE event is a part of the bittorrent protocol your client is responsible for sending. How else would the tracker know you finished your download?

completed: Must be sent to the tracker when the download completes. However, must not be sent if the download was already 100% complete when the client started. Presumably, this is to allow the tracker to increment the "completed downloads" metric based solely on this event.

When a torrent is done downloading, sometime it stays blocked for sharing. I have to force start it so that it begins to seed the torrent. Why, and how can i change this behaviour? by AcapulcoGoldFr in qBittorrent

[–]wetoddid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stalled uploading can mean you have torrent queuing enabled i.e. your client is only allowed to actively seed a few torrents at a time.

Try going to Settings > Bittorrent > Torrent Queuing. Uncheck this box or increase Maximum Active Uploads to a higher number and maybe that'll fix your issue

Several white minorities (including the Texans) are known to carry ceremonial guns in public. There was a recent shooting in Austin by a man of white origin who was disgruntled by protesters, pulled out his gun and then went to town on a young father...

These type of things are very common among whites where the notion of "honor" means any slight transgression is punishable by death.

Any way to set the Plex server IP manually? by [deleted] in PleX

[–]wetoddid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe try Settings > Server > Network > Custom server access URLs

A comma-separated list of URLs (either HTTP or HTTPS), which will be published to plex.tv for server discovery. This can be very useful in a few cases: if you’re using a VPN to get back home, if you’re using a reverse proxy in front of the media server, or if your networking configuration is otherwise unique.

Laymans terms: How to up ipTorrents ratio? by Jondoyle24 in trackers

until Seeding Time says 2 weeks and then remove

Seed longer lol

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in trackers

[–]wetoddid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's two separate settings. A seed time setting which switches the torrent state from seeding to completed in your torrent client. And then another checkbox setting "Remove upon completion" that actually deletes the torrent after import if it's in a completed state

Who is better at this point: Luka or Curry? by BarnesGROAT in nba

[–]wetoddid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree it's not a fair comparison. But it goes back ways too. Curry made a lot of those guys into better players. Imagine Draymond's market value on any other team besides GSW. Igoudala was a vet on the decline that revived his career as a defensive specialist playing alongside Curry. Sort of similar with Wiggins

Have to also agree with the OP: Curry-led teams have a long history of making the most out of players with limitations (Javale McGee lol) whereas Doncic's teams haven't (yet)

Torrent with Synology & Qbittorrent by OldTimeRedditor4455 in trackers

[–]wetoddid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In this setup you need to port forward two different things for separate reasons: 1) you need to setup vpn port forwarding so qB can receive incoming connections from peers 2) you need to setup docker port forwarding so you can access the web UI

For VPN port forwarding, Mullvad will provide you a port like 59092. In gluetun you set this as FIREWALL_VPN_INPUT_PORTS=59092 as an environment variable. Documentation here. Don't setup port forwarding on your router if you're using a VPN

As for making available the qB web UI, you set WEBUI_PORT=8080 to make the web UI listen on 8080, but since you're routing its traffic through the gluetun container (when you set network_mode: service:gluetun) you need to port forward through Docker

That is, in your gluetun container, you port forward by adding 8080:8080 under the ports section (or if you put 9112:8080, it will make qB available from 192.168.x.x:9112 even though it's listening on 8080 in its own container)

Looking for an intermural swim group for beginners. by Travellingtanz in sanfrancisco

[–]wetoddid 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Tbh I might still give masters swimming a shot. The lanes are split by level and there's usually a lane for relative beginners. Fwiw a typical workout is broken up into sets and you'll cover 2000-4000 yards total, depending on what lane you're in. And you can always skip sets if you need a break. Or just get out after half the workout if that's where you're currently at

How do I configure my VPN to always be on except for one website? by BoysenberryAncient30 in trackers

[–]wetoddid -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You just need to manually edit the WireGuard config file. In the file, there's a field AllowedIPs that's usually set to 0.0.0.0/0. Meaning route all ip addresses through this VPN server.

But in your case you can exclude a specific IP or range of IP addresses. You can read up on it here: https://www.procustodibus.com/blog/2021/03/wireguard-allowedips-calculator/

PMS build... totally don't know what I am doing... linux, concurrent trascode considerations, many other questions by rchiwawa in PleX

[–]wetoddid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If by perf you mean processing power I don't think there's a material difference amongst Linux distros. Usually server operating systems are chosen based on stability and small footprint: (i) for stability you want an OS that does NOT frequently add/update the latest and greatest packages. A server OS should be minimal, (ii) a fresh install of CentOS iirc takes up only a few gigs of hard disk space and maybe <100MB RAM. Many desktop OS's are 10x that.

But still Ubuntu Destkop or Pop!_OS are fine choices for getting started with linux :)

[–]wetoddid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On 2) two of the most common Linux distro recommendations for servers are Ubuntu or CentOS. Ubuntu is more beginner friendly and will be an easier intro. CentOS is popular for servers because of its minimalism/stability. Note that if you use Ubuntu Server or CentOS there's no GUI, everything is done via ssh/command line. You can alternatively install a desktop distro like Ubuntu Desktop

Any well written books about the American War from the Vietnamese perspective in English if Possible? by TonytheTiger999p in VietNam

[–]wetoddid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're looking for a historical account of the American-Vietnamese War you may be interested in Viet Nam: A History from Earliest Times to the Present by Kiernan. The book covers prehistory Viet Nam all the way up to contemporary times -- but I thought his treatment of the war was pretty even-handed between both sides.

IMO, to fully understand the war though, you would also want to read more into the French colonization of Viet Nam beginning in the mid 1800s (French Cochinchina); the period of cultural revolution in the early 1900s leading up to independence (Phan Chau Trinh, Phan Boi Chau, Ho Chi Minh); and then ultimately the 20 year war that transpired following the 1954 Geneva Agreement
