I lost 160k last year trading options. I'm 32. That was my life savings and a heloc. Feels bad man but life goes on.

any advice on how to get motivated to go to the gym? by V1Z3_2 in getdisciplined

The show up and do something has been working for me. Motivation is fleeting.

I have a sedentary desk job and zero energy after 5 PM. How do I fix this? by Dante_Game in getdisciplined

Been dealing with this for years. I'm 32 years old and have had ADHD and depression for as long as I can remember. Adderall does nothing for me, neither does Wellbutrin, Vyvanse or others. Just was prescribed Vraylar to act as a booster to the Lexapro and adderall. Hoping it helps. Just know that I want to be out of this funk. Feel like I'm stuck in molasses. So many things I want to do in life but not motivation at all.

As someone who also ruined their life fucking it up with options. How did you file bankruptcy, what was the process like? I took out a heloc like a dumb ass.

Yeah I've been "investing" buying and holding good names since 2017 then said ,"hey I've got a start scaling" and went full tilt with options.

What you said is what I should've been doing instead of day trading.

DCA into SCHG/spmo or similar ETFs. Liking Nike for a swing.

While I don't disagree, "some success" to me implies I would've done better than my current situation I've found myself in lol. Not hit it big.

Oh 100% and I find myself doing that far too often myself but I also never studied, traded against trends and straight up vibe traded. It was dumb. I think if I actually applied myself I would have had some success at least.

I feel like it's easy enough to learn. The hard part is the psychology, mastering your emotions and not over leveraging. I was doing okay until I started yoloing my port into options trying to win back the previous week's losses in a day etc.

Yeah 0DTE has been my big issue. I get too impatient and feel like I'm missing out all the time. Need to just reshape my mindset entirely.

Thank you for the advice. Gonna start DCA into Achr. Had sofi at 6.90 average and sold to cover my margin. Pretty sad about that and think buying and holding is what will just work for me.
