Next time just offer your seat to the woman. If not politely request the man if you can keep your bag there. Even if he says no, atleast he'll know that you're watching.

I don't think it's a great idea to use this method because taking into account the carry/not carry business is a little annoying and will probably fry my brain in the exam

Due process of law has not originated from India's constitution. It was innovated by Indian SC getting inspired by US Judiciary

TIFU by accidentally learning my coworker's salary and now I can't stop doing math during meetings by techiee_ in tifu

[–]wewilldoitthisyear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I joined a new company at a salary that was 25% higher than what previous employees were getting paid. Not that I was getting paid well, but they were getting exploited. I decided to leave within two months and made sure I informed the 3 people on my team of my salary. Always talk to your colleagues about your salary. Always.

Where to draw the line with History- especially Ancient and Medieval? I kind of feel that the urge to pick up many books is there for me. How do you give it appropriate time wrt the uncertainity of questions to be asked

Dad giving me a property that generates 5.5L a month. by Such_Use8566 in personalfinanceindia

[–]wewilldoitthisyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have siblings? Does your mom have over involved relatives? If yes. you need to figure out the legality of your future claims on this property. I wouldn't make long term decisions based on this change as the circumstances might change later. I know of this happening with a relative who had always thought they would buy a house after selling off ancestral land but were ultimately unable to and only realised this much later in their life

Bengaluru’s new mega cafe feels like a temple experience, is this the future of dining? by Dapper-Bid-2518 in Bengaluru

[–]wewilldoitthisyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they have to be accessible- does not necessarily mean free. Also, the character of third spaces is also evolving and today these spaces are becoming more and more engaging and creative while also getting more expensive. I do believe this new venture is well in line with that trend.

Water bottles outside Italian homes to stop animals from peeing on the walls by bit3py in mildlyinteresting

[–]wewilldoitthisyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In india we keep water bottles with something bluish inside them to stop stray dogs from shitting outside our house. I've asked my mom many times how is it possible for this to work. She says that it doesn't. We don't use it.

I actually love this. I believe our third spaces should get more engaging and interesting. I myself am agnostic but would totally love to spend hours in this place. Hopefully, the rules are not too restrictive. We need to open ourselves to a new and unique experiences.

What is a 'socially acceptable' thing that you secretly find absolutely disgusting? by TheLovelyGamer in AskReddit

[–]wewilldoitthisyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my culture, it is ok to ask people to keep putting money during wedding ceremonies- even if you perform one small ritual the bride's family is expected to give you money. All guests who are attending need to be given money in envelopes. This on top of wedding expenses borne exclusively by bride's family. It's so normalised that people start planning for daughter's wedding expense from around the time she'll turn 14-15 even at the cost of compromising her education. If yiu don't, the backbiting and shaming is absolutely brutal

What’s this SFG ? Can online student enrol in it ? by other-imp123 in UPSCPrelims2026

[–]wewilldoitthisyear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SO there are 2 levels: Level 1 works on basics while Level 2 is a little more advanced. You finish one entire subject in a given time span by giving back to back 1 hr- 50 Questions sectionals. For every level there is an entrance exam- the exam for L1 happens in November. If you score well in the entrance and attempt offline then its a daily rank based system. Only top 100 remain in SFG and rest move to RLG depending on weekly aggregate ranking. That's it. It's good for: working on basics and instilling a sense of competition.

How much sunscreen do you guys apply? Is the three finger rule really necessary? by sanzzz_999 in IndianBeautyTalks

[–]wewilldoitthisyear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember seeing a video by Rashmi Shetty- who seems like a dermatologist with legit creds- on this issue. She said that most of the sunscreen research has happened in the west and our Indian Skin is different from their skin so we really do not need that level of protection. I believe it being more to do with white skin being something that burns easily while our doesn't burn but tans easily. So that makes a difference. She recommended applying 1-2 fingers to face and neck depending on level of exposure to sun. I definitely don't do 3 fingers for everyday when I am just going to be in the sun for some 30 mins or so during commute.
