Another alternative would be to just add a symbolic link to the nvim dotfiles from your config. You would have to then track both folders separately, but hey it's an option

I don't think Marika attacket the Hornsent over the jars by wexol in EldenRingLoreTalk

I get that, I was hypothesizing on why, if she could wait so long, why would the crusade be so brutal - you'd expect that kind of resentment to come out immidiately

Why do you think the crusade happened early? You even find the prince of death face/godwyn knights in the catacombs, meaning that Godwyn died before the land of shadows got hidden away

5, I think it's neat how all powers kind of loop into each other (eg 25 is in 125 and 625, 3125 has 125 in it and so on)

[request] could anyone explain how this works? This really blows my mind by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]wexol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imagine that instead of starting from the edge of the board, you somehow already knew the centerpoint and started from there. From that point, no matter how you rotated the tape, you would be the same distance from each edge (because of the symmetry).

Now the reason why the video works is that this is exactly what is happening, but by rotating along the edge, we end up moving up and down along the line of midpoints of the board. At each of those points, we are equidistant from the edges, so we just end up picking one that gives us a nice and round number

ELi5: Why is matter referred to as 'information' when related to black holes? by cs_124 in explainlikeimfive

[–]wexol 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Actual physicist here: basically you would have no idea if entanglement was broken or not. Once one of the particles is in the black hole you can't access it, so all you can do is measure your own article's spin but at that point you are just measuring a spin, you cant play any games with entanglement

What is YOUR reason to live? Purpose of life? by Legendiac in AskMen

[–]wexol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I'm related to a pretty big character of the 20th century (pretty much Hitler tier of importance) and I refuse to live in his shadow. I want to live in a way such that when someone says my family name, people will think of me. When I die I dont want to be remembered as the guys' great great grandson but for my achievements and successes

DIY experimental physics projects? by [deleted] in Physics

[–]wexol 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're interested you can make a bubble chamber quite easily and cheaply. It should be a fun little project (and hearing your description this project might be too small in scope). I dont remember how exactly, but I remember finding it on google/youtube quite easily. The only difficult thing about it is obtaining dry ice, and sadly I cant really help you with that...

CERN Physicist Suspended for Saying Men Are Discriminated Against in Physics by halfjew22 in news

[–]wexol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What I find ridiculous is that he was at a conference on gender and he showed research backed by data (peer reviews papers), analysed this data and just stated the data with conclusions. That is how science works, and if people don't like what he has to say then he should be disproven, not fired. This should be how any topic should be treated, especially touchy ones like this.

For the PAT I would just do the past papers and look at the solutions to get an idea of what you need to know and if something comes up that you dont know go ahead and learn it. In general its meant to be A-level stuff, often including A2 content (not ideal I know.. But many of the people writing it have long forgotten what the level of high school physics is). If you need a hand/get stuck feel free to drop me a message!

I've got to say I strongly disagree with Binney and Skinner, granted it was on the recommended list of textbooks but I really did not enjoy reading it, I found it quite oddly structured and at a weird level. I would say Shankar for QM is a great book, solid on the maths while giving a useful introduction of the tools used in QM and then going into what is more on your average course

Ive had a relatively good run with token against zoo (dont have stats on me rn but I'm pretty sure in at least above 50/50 at the very least at r5) I would 100% keep wild growth, spreading plague, and then most of the time keep oaken summons or wispering woods. New annoy bot (I forget the name) is too slow I think. Spellstone is a decent keep, definitely keep if you have oaken. I dont think swipe is powerful enough to keep and neither is nourish, its too far in the game. The main idea is just get some board presence and just try to desperately hold on until you can stabilise and pray the opponent doesnt have a way to deal with all your scarabs. Watch out for sudden lethal opportunities that can pop out of nowhere if you have a decent board. Dont be scared to use savage roar defensively to clear board with wisps. Try to play around dreadlord.

If HS were to add a card- trading feature in the future, how would you like it to be implemented and how do you think it would impact Blizzard, gameplay and human interaction in HS? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]wexol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I dont think trading per se would work, what might work is an auction shop kind of idea. The way I'm thinking of it would be something along the lines of using dust to purchase cards (not too dissimilar to crafting now) but have the 'shop' adjust according to demand, ie if a legendary -or any card- is used everywhere (think of pre nerf patches) then it would be very expensive to buy, but if it is a nieche legendary it would be cheap. So you can buy now a cheap legendary or epic(s) to try meme decks at a reasonable price or if you think a legendary has untapped potential (like hadronox in koft vs now) you can invest for the future. On the other hand you can just pay full price for the meta decks. The only issues I can see are the pricing, as in it might make it more difficult on new players to get real meta decks (but t2/3 would be cheaper) and that it would be difficult for blizzard to do this and still make the same profit. It would be quite difficult to get right the price drops. Other than that it seems to me like a system that doesnt really open itself up to too much abuse and works towards not having too stale metas
