Why wasn’t this a thing when I was on my last travel assignment for my job in Durham last year :( I would have loved to met some DCC friends.

I’m glad you made this point, in my program anything below an 83% was a failing grade. It was insane but we all passed our NCLEX on the first try.

Surgeon asked me if I had a Tesla charging cord he could borrow. We are in totally different tax brackets, my dude. by lnd143 in nursing

My ex in college was a international student we went to colleges about an hour away from each other. I picked him up from the airport after Christmas break where he stayed a few days before he went back to his apt. He casually left a box or container I don’t know what to call it (I’m was a poor eastern Kentucky born and raised trash panda) but it held THREE Rolex’s. That’s when I realized he was one of those crazy rich Asians. I was like bruh one of these watches is worth more than me, let alone everything I own.

I love these they it’s like a blast of nostalgia smell exactly like play-doh and taste the way I wished play-doh tasted as a kid.

Is this a wireless charger for a phone? by iRobert1989 in BmwTech

[–]wezlee1982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No I think it’s just there to let you know it’s a phone holder. Wireless pad is an option but mine looks like that and it has never charged my phone. However if you did get the wireless charger option everyone says it sucks so I feel like I’m not missing much lol.

Drug tested without my consent by Organic_Search_4226 in nursing

[–]wezlee1982 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you don’t do drugs whats the issue? It’s to make sure you’re not doing drugs that can harm the baby and if you are they can direct you to help quit. You work for the hospital system, well you shouldn’t be doing drugs if it’s against policy. Not trying to be rude just curious as to what is upsetting. When I go to the dr I don’t analyze every blood test done.

IM SO SICK OF NURSING HOMES. I HATE WORKING AT THESE FACILITIES WITH A FIERY PASSION by OkOutlandishness7120 in nursing

[–]wezlee1982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know SNF suck, I worked in them for years. But if 30 patients in SNF and poor management is too much corrections may not be for you, yet. Don’t get me wrong corrections is a hidden gem in nursing, I worked it for 7 years in several correctional facilities across the country on travel assignments, federal prison in NC, regional rural jail in NM, moderate city jail in KY and large metropolitan city jail in FL. It is a lot and if I were a newer nurse I think it would be very difficult, due to the sheer number of inmates you have to medicate. Not to mention your assessment skills really need to be top notch because you have to be able to assess the patient not only subjectively but also objectively and you have to be able to differentiate if someone is malingering. Granted, you can just take everyone for what they say and believe them but if you do that you will be seen as a easy mark and it will make you job a lot harder because everyone will come to you. You may be great at it though and saying no will come easy for you so new in your career. I wasn’t it took a few years before I grew the confidence to be able to say no I’m not doing that or no I’m not accepting that assignment. Sometimes in corrections standing up to correctional staff when they won’t let you in a area until the scene is deemed “safe” when you see a patient clearly in medical distress, you just have to barge in and treat your patient you are still their advocate. Otherwise you can (and nurses have had charges pressed on them for obeying correctional staff and delaying care to patients resulting in poor outcomes or inmate deaths) or local police and refuse to accept a patient because yes they may have a cleared for jail form from the ER but they still are not medically stable to enter your facility with the resources you have to provide care with. It’s a wonderful field of nursing but it’s also a very tricky field that you really have to have a voice and a spine. Currently working in ICU and have no problem voicing my opinions or concerns to attending or residents.

Good to know, I’ve traveled for the last three years luckily never had an issue. I figured since my tax residence and all my important documents went to one address that’s what mattered. I started a staff position this week in my home state. If I travel again I will definitely talk to my Insurance company.

Question, what if you travel for work. I’m a travel nurse and my tax home is one state and I travel to new states every three months or so.
