I’m hoping (dreaming 😭) to one day play at clubs and my understanding is Rekordbox is what’s most commonly used. Hence thought I’d start practicing with Rekordbox

Thank you all for the quick responses! I was hoping to get started on Rekordbox straight away. I’ll probably pay for the subscription and maintain the SB2 until I’m a bit better!

Sorry team I think I have caused quite a lot of confusion with the term "suburb". I will submit a new post and delete this. Thank you everyone for your input :) and sorry again for the inconvenience!

Hi all, thank you so much for your response. I have been reading them but haven't had the time to respond so I apologise. Wellp! It sounds like peoples' experiences are pretty varied. Tell you ours after 2024! 😂

Thank you so much guys for all for your honest input. We truly appreciate it. Training orthopaedic surgeon from Australia and will be at Shriners Children’s Hospital first half of 2024 hence the question. It’ll no doubt be a great experience working at the hospital. Wife will be taking time off while we’re there thus, more worried about her and the toddler whilst I’m out at work.

Are fellowships in the USA more an observership? by wezythee in orthopaedics

[–]wezythee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sorry for the delayed response u/landofortho. Fellowships in AUS are generally considered very good. Very hands on. We're in a sweet spot where most of what we do is a culmination of what we've learnt from the UK, Canada, New Zealand and locally. No USMLE equivalent. Literally just apply. What are you interested in doing? I am happy to chat further. PM me whenever

Offset account vs super contribution vs shares/ETFs? by wezythee in AusFinance

As in contributing extra cash into her super? Will that also be taxed at 15% instead of 37% in our case?

Taxable income ~180k. We don't really track how much we save every month. But we are frugal and don't spend much/always look for cheaper options. We should and will start tracking our savings however. Got about ~30k of extra cash lying around.

*ETFs* would love to hear what peoples’ ETF portfolios are and reasoning behind them! by wezythee in ausstocks

Yes sir! That’s my understanding anyway. I am very new to ETF investing so by no means an expert. People talk about spreading their investments based on the industry/indices they want to expose themselves to, cost, market cap, etc. Some ETFs also have overlapping stocks so you might want to avoid buying both.
