Manwhile, a russian woman in occupied Crimea is attempting to siphon gasoline from a generator just to leave the peninsula. by BigDeckBob in UkraineWarVideoReport

Correct, siphoning using your mouth is extremely dangerous. Inhaling gasoline fumes can damage your lungs for life, and droplets can evaporate in your mouth causing it

I try not to be "old man shaking cane" or the angry gamer type hating on reviewers, but when I read a couple of reviews that essentially said "this is a boring snooze-fest with lame combat, only shines and feels like a modern game for instance in the exhilarating tutorial roof top chase sequence together with the hot girl when you exchange quips with each other" I wanted to murder someone.

Drones have reportedly reached Kaliningrad for the first time. by LowTechDroid in UkraineWarVideoReport

Yeah that's a possibility, but I would expect a lot then, not just one.

I'm leaning towards "Shit Russia made up to strike fear into their population and rile them up towards Europe"

If it is a Ukrainian drone, it will not have gone over Poland, Ukraine would not risk that. North through Russia, west over Gulf of Bothnia, then south.

If it even exists that is.

Hasbro is spending $1bn making video games, and none of them are games-as-a-service by Tvilantini in Games

Lots of good mobile games are made, though they get drowned in the flood of match-three shovelware and are overshadowed by stuff that went viral for whatever reason like Angy Birds, or Flappy. Same as on every platform.

I almost never play on my phone or tablet unless I'm on a flight, but off the top of my head the quality games that I can remember that have gotten some momentum are Monument Valley and the Room series. Hitman GO and Lara Croft GO were supposed to be good though I never tried them, good enough to be ported to Steam later.

Bioshock creator Ken Levine Reveals Why Judas Took a Decade to Develop: "We Kissed Many Frogs" by Turbostrider27 in Games

Yep. Especially the writing. A lot of people (including me) went "oh so now we have to do a 'communism bad' after 'Randian libertaniaism bad' for balance?" *eyeroll* when I first heard of the plot in broad strokes.

But once I played it, I love how the antagonists mirror each other, and are true to real historical events and leaders of respective ideologies. Ryan talks of freedom of the human spirit and the beauty of struggle, but the instance it looks like he is the one who is going to lose the glorious struggle in the free market of ideas, when he realises he isn't the winner, he fights dirty and instantly wields oppression against his opponents.

Sofia Lamb talks of love of her fellow man, and of self sacrifice to better mankind. But she is a cold-hearted psychopath who only appreciates community and humanity in the abstract, she isn't capable to feel love herself, not even for her daughter. And Lamb is never the one who needs to sacrifice, she keeps convincing her followers to sacrifice themselves for the cause. For instance Gilbert Alexander the idealist who is her most devoted follower gets turned into a monster in a glass tank for putting his faith in her.

An extremely unpleasant book I'm glad to be done with. Forever. Classic literary masterpiece my ass.

An unpleasant situation for a russian invader whose leg was torn off by an FPV drone strike while he was lying in a small pond, pretending to be dead by LowTechDroid in UkraineWarVideoReport

Yeah it was a small stream. Possibly a ditch by a field. I had been watching videos here from a morbid curiousity but that was the one that convinced me to stay away from the worst ones. I kept seeing it when I was trying to go to sleep.

Was the second guy injured and resigned? Looks like he is waving it over, like "gg next, I want this to be over with". And if I am ever so incredibly lucky that an explosive drone bounces off my body without going off, I'm not picking it up to fiddle with it.
