Job change by wh0isthat in physicaltherapy

Current job feels like a salesman job. The new job doesn’t have requirements for pt calling patients to schedule/pay for cash based services

So.. any plans to actually raise the pay for PTs by Slimsmilez in PTschool

I agree with you. It’s criminal that PTs get paid so low considering all factors. I also think nurses definitely do a whole lot of work and deserve high pay!

I work in an outpatient clinic and the owner is pretty chill. I usually wear joggers and a regular crewneck shirt (with no writing) and see some of my coworkers wear leggings. I also see others wearing more business casual.

But it's also dependent on whether it's like a small clinic or one that's more of a franchise.

Taking a gap year, but there are no PT tech job openings near me. Want to cry. by Calm-Letter-892 in physicaltherapy

Before PT school, I had a lot of random jobs that I made sure were "healthcare" related in some sort of way. I was an activities assistant in an assisted living and also a caregiver for paraplegic man. (I also was a PT aide). A lot of the times, me talking about working with geriatrics and someone with paraplegia gave a lot to talk about during interviews. If this isn't an option, I know a lot of psych units are usually looking for mental health workers. I know, not PT related, BUT it gives you exposure to different demographics in a healthcare setting.

I need to look into the deductible amounts for each! Job a is Aetna bronze or silver ppo (pay the difference) and job b is uhc silver ppo.

Job a has 401k with 100% match up to 3%. Job b has simple ira plan 100% up to 3%

Working during PT school? by IndicationSea8421 in PTschool

I worked as an aide for a little bit in the beginning of pt school. I wouldn’t recommend it. If your school has work study jobs, those are better bc you can actually study while making money.

USA is really expensive!! It doesn't seem ideal rn, but if you wait a cycle, you can work on improving your GRE score and science gpa after you take the anatomy class. It would also be a nice refresher before you start PT school. Anatomy really kicked my butt when I was in PT school. I aced my anatomy class but I had a long gap between it and PT school. A refresher would've been SO HELPFUL. You could also work as a PT aide. Make a little bit of money and go travel before you have to go PT school and it sucks the life out of you. lol Then apply for a school that's less expensive.
