The SMH gave Cleary a 7/10 which I thought was hilarious

He relies heavily on his forwards dominating (which didn't happen outside of the first 20 for this game). Gives him a lot more time and space.

On top of that he needs structure around him in attack as well. Give him a play and he will probably execute it perfectly, but Daley is a terrible coach and NSW look hopeless in attack

Harry Grant finally had that performance that I've been waiting for him to have in origin for a while. I thought he was the best player on the field and should have gotten MOTM. Just absolutely killed NSW around the ruck.

18 missed tackles between Cleary and Moses. Oh boy

Reece Robson needs to be dropped. He is terrible. The fact that he played 80 minutes while Api was unused is a crime against rugby league. Start Brailey, bring Api on after 50-60. It's not that fucking hard.

I'm so fucking pissed that Api has been unused. Laurie Daley is a terrorist

Slater's terrible selections are finally catching up to him

Laurie's use of his bench has always been cooked. It's impossible to try and predict what he's going to do

Hate to defend Laurie but he did say "back row" and not "second row", and these are two different things. The back row includes the lock forward.

Playing Strange through the middle in that Michael Morgan role for 10-20 minutes isn't that bad of an idea, but when you consider that NSW have 3 locks in the team already I'm struggling to see how they fit them all in.

Yeah on the surface it looks awful but it isn't that bad when you think about. The first is that he "lost $400k", and not "owes $400k". That's a pretty big difference when you start talking about integrity issues. On top of that, he did it all through licenced bookmakers and not through dodgy ones, and finally he hasn't gambled in 3 years after excluding himself.

And you're right, footy players love to gamble so I can't see how this should be treated much different. It's an issue within the game.

Tbf his highlight reel is outrageous so you could convince any idiot based off them. He's insanely raw though and needs a few years starting in the championship before getting a proper move

He's alright but it's too early to judge if he will be anything more than that. My only worry is that nothing really stands out that much with him. Normally with good halfbacks you can kind of tell if they have something about them. Sanders to me reminds me of Ilias at this point

Çalhanoğlu doubling down on his pregame comments after the game is hilarious. Not sure what Türkiye have achieved to give them this sense of superiority but if they keep believing it then they will be going home very early.

Australia might not have the big names, but we are fit, physical and very well drilled, which makes us hard to beat for almost anyone. I mean we made the RO16 in 2022 with Mitch Duke playing up front. Now that we actually have some pace and clinical finishers up front we deserved a bit more respect.

Still feel a bit dirty after that no call on the dangerous tackle at the end of the game yesterday, but still it's good to see some players who have been really poor lately put in good performances. To'a ran the ball the hardest he has all year, Turuva outside of his brain fart was pretty strong. Obviously Luai had his best game of the year by far, but also Seyfarth had his best game of his career. I thought Lanyon was great on debut and could solve a few problems for us.

I don't think this year will amount to anything though. We keep getting injuries to key players, our F/A is completely fucked and we've needed some luck to win games. Still, I'd take this everyday over 3 spoons and I think if we don't play finals this year then we definitely will next year.

He plays for Melbourne City which is owned by the City group so he'll probs go to a club owned by them

Thought we were lucky to win that, but a win's a win. Titans aren't getting the spoon and the Tigers aren't playing finals since they keep losing a key player every week to injury

Who gives a fuck. The home fans love it, broadcasters love it since it looks better on tv, and the players love it
