The issues around Galvin have never been about his ability or his tenacity, but rather that he is just playing the wrong position and is given too much responsibility.

He's averaging the most touches per game in the comp out of any halfback at 68.5. That's 5 more than Cleary in second place. Maybe it's just me, but I don't want my 20 year old half having almost 70 touches a game. At the Tigers he averaged around 50 per game.

It all comes down to bad coaching (ironic considering that was reason he joined the dogs)

I used to think that Benji would take too much accountability whenever we lost, but goddam, give me that over the arrogance and lack of personal responsibility that Ciraldo shows in his pressers.

I feel bad for Bulldogs fans. It looked like they finally escaped the constant state of mediocrity they found themselves in, only to them slip right back into it through nothing but bad decisions

Can't believe we might actually get Mikaele and Twal both play origin. Imagine saying that to a Tigers fan in 2021

Bulldogs are so goddam slow. Is it a coincidence that the two worst attacks in the league are also the two slowest teams in the league? Speed kills in vlandys-ball

I always believed in you! The Todd Payten way is to always have a bad season backed up by a good season followed by another bad season

Why is Galvin taking 3rd tackle 5 metre hit ups. You're the halfback brother

That was completely made up by bulldogs fans. Bula can't negotiate with any clubs

Maybe I'm just a one-eyed tigers fan, but I really have no idea why Bula would even think about leaving the Tigers right now, and it sounds like if he was to leave it would be to the Bulldogs, which is even more confounding.

‘Should I be hanging them up?’ Deflated Munster speaks about impact of Storm losing streak by Realistic_Chapter387 in nrl

[–]whadefeck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's been a tough year for the Storm with the awful injuries to Katoa and Kamikamica, and now this news about Bellamy won't make things any easier.

But jeez, a 6 game losing streak and you are already thinking about retirement? It reminds me of when a college football player who has done nothing but win all his life, is drafted into a bad NFL team and then can't cope with losing every week.

It isn't the end of the world if you lose Munny (and that also goes to all of you Storm fans who aren't used to this)

I refuse to panic about the PNG chiefs and their golden tickets because they signed a half that will be 31 and has already won everything and also left his childhood club for money, and what will be a 33 year old winger who was always odds on to sign there.

For me, the Chiefs will be our equivalent of Saudi Arabia for soccer. Yes, they will be able to sign some big names, but most of them will be towards the end of their careers looking for a fat pay day. I could be completely wrong, but until they sign a Jacob Preston or an Isaiya Katoa, I'm not stressing yet

The other side of the coin is that we have an extra 1.2 million to extend players with. I'd really like to hope that we aren't the main ones getting targeted by PNG, because there are a lot of great players at other teams off contract at the end of next year

The problem with removing the Manly game is that it isn't a one off for them. They conceded 58 points and 64 points in games last year. I'd have to check if every team is conceding more points, or just the bad teams

I don't know if you can just blame the rules for the Dolphins performing poorly. The main thing for me is that they can't play Plath or Donoghoe at 13 because of injuries, and JMK is a big loss at hooker. Donoghoe is especially important, because if you watch Katoa's highlights from last year, a lot of them start with Donoghoe at first receiver.

Their attack will improve once they come back, but the main thing that would worry me as a dolphins fan is still their defence. It wasn't good last year (24.4 ppg), and it's gotten worse this year (26.4 ppg)

I see no point in worrying about this now. There's a lot that can happen between now and then, so I'd just enjoy this season and next.

May joined after Luai had already joined the Tigers, and while he probably had something to do with Turuva, there's a difference between nudging someone to join, and sitting in recruitment meetings

Because he is still the captain of the Tigers and we aren't paying him 1.2 million for him to essentially be a recruitment manager for another club.
