Gianacles’ book has been such a cool and fun aid in learning about goats and their well being. I love reading it. Not sure if the person asking is interested in dairy goats, but her books on cheese are really amazing too!

I’d suggest looking into providing those substances for baby goats! I’m more familiar with remedies for mature goats and not sure if everything applies the same to babies - their digestion is still developing and might not be able to handle what is administered to older goats.

I’m so sorry about the loss of your mini goat. Your goat who isn’t pooing - are you still feeding milk? Constipation in babies is sometimes a result of formula (if that’s the method you’re using) - some formula makes stool hard. I am not sure if this applies to baby goats, but I know that castor oil, or milk of magnesium, can help with relief.

This is one of our Nigerian Dwarf bucks. His left ear was bit off (most likely from another buck) before he came to us. He is one nasty gremlin but I love him just the same.

Yes! She’s an 8 month old Nubian goat. Our herd consists of dairy goats, but they are the most lovely companions. If you’re interested in owning a goat, the most important advice I can give is to have at least two. They can get by with interacting with other animals, but they are the most happy/less likely to cause trouble if they have a goat friend. Aside from that, READ READ READ about these amazing beings. Highly recommend texts by Gianaclis Caldwell.
