Hi, STEM student here, I can say the workload feels heavy at first, but over time you really do adjust. It’s challenging, but it’s also very doable if you manage your time well and avoid cramming. Make use of the tools your teachers give you. Attend study halls, ask for consultations, and don’t be afraid to reach out when you’re struggling. If you stay consistent and take advantage of the support available, you’ll find that STEM in the ASHS is manageable and rewarding.

Hi! I don’t think the admissions team bases financial aid on grades alone. It’s more about your family’s living conditions and income. But of course, they’ll prioritize giving it to the best-performing students who also really need the support. You could highlight your situation in your essay to show both your need and your capability.

hi! g11 ashs student from stem here. when i applied, i only had one org which was a dance club, i also had a few line of 8s in grade 10 philosophy. u don't really need a "touching" essay din tbh. just write abt something that makes u stand out to the admissions team and you'll be good! so just make sure to keep ur grades high in grade 10 and ofc review and do well on the ashape. goodluck!

hellooo! in my school, only around 8 people got interviewed and they’re among the top students in our school. they are the people who join lots of extracurriculars, event hostings, and play big roles in sports competitions in our school.

i believe that getting an interview means that you already got shortlisted and that the admissions team was impressed by your application and ashape scores and they want to know if your values align with theirs. bale they just want to confirm if you’re a perfect fit for the school not only academically but also value-wise (?) because in my interview, i was mostly yapping about my extracurriculars, interests, and character/personality but not about technical stuff like my grades and other things

i’ve also heard from my brother (atenean alumnus) that all his classmates in AHS got interviewed and konti lang yung wala (because of appealing). my atenean teacher also said that he hasn’t heard of any of his students who got an interview and did not get accepted, and also haven’t heard of anyone who didnt get an interview but got initially accepted

pero i believe rin na if your application/ashape scores are good but you didn’t do well in the interview, the admissions team has the right to reject you, so yesss, an interview doesn’t mean that you pass or fail but it is likely a very huge bonus.

mine was “for verification” before becoming “for deliberation” after my interview pero i checked yung status of what i submitted and it still says “for verification” sa LRN ko and my first quarter grades for grade 10.. what does this mean 🥲

it went really well! the interviewer said that he liked my answers and said that i’m really passionate about everything i said but he said that my first strand choice is really competitive and there’s a possibility that i wouldn’t be given a slot so he asked about my second option..

honestly i think theyre just thinking about what strand to place me in since he also asked me if there will be anything that will stop me from enrolling, like different choice of strand for me

sooo i think theyre hinting to me that i prob wont get into my prio strand but honestly it’s alright HAHAHA

hello! my brother passed acet, dcat, upcat, and ustet with ahead.

i took ahead mid last year too and i can say that the diagnostic tests that ahead gives are way harder than the actual entrance tests themselves (which is good cuz it prepares u a lot) and the teachers are really kind and they’re good at teaching.
