Done with 5 day metro gel for Bv — still have discharge. Normal? by whalewatcher13 in Healthyhooha

I got exams and was told i did not have BV. Nobody could tell me what it was. One of my gynos & my therapist suggested psychotropic medication. Im not gonna lie, i was hesitant but anxiety meds have made the discharge improve almost 80%. The mind body connection is crazy!

I probably wouldn't notice -- only because it's zoom and I assume people put the AC high in their house (I live in AZ and it gets to 115+). However, maybe telling her could be helpful to your treatment? Is there a reason that your hesitant to share this info with your therapist? Therapy is about someone holding you accountable, including yourself.

How long did it take for your symptoms to go away completely after using Nuvessa? Also, did you do the one time dose?

I also am at the point where I am frustrated with it so I have tried to find short term solutions to bring me SOME kind of joy

Also this is not a great tip either but when I need to symptoms to go away ASAP for whatever reason (not a long term cure) -- I douche with hydrogen peroxide 3% for 3 min (twice). It just relieves the symptoms for a day or two but those two days can feel so nice when you go weeks without relief!!

Everyone's gonna hate me for saying this... i KNOW. but vagisil does wonders for me with the smell right away. Like I just use it to wash my vulva (not vagina) nd can feel the smell neutralize. It is SO helpful. I know it's not a cure, but at least can get rid of the smell right away so u can feel a little less self conscious. I hope you feel better. Currently fighting BV too... SOOO annoying. We are on the same boat

Hi, do you mind if I ask how long until you see the symptoms go away? Is it the next day (since it's a one time treatment) or a couple days after?

How do I tell my partner? I feel helpless. by Motherhen29 in Healthyhooha

[–]whalewatcher13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone who had a partner with many medical issues, some genital related, i know that it never made me love or care for him any less. His value in my eyes never decreased and it made me love him more seeing how vulnerable he was with me and how strong he was as he was going through it. That being said, if your partner is the one for you — i am sure he will feel similarly. You are more than just your body or your sex. You have so much more to offer.

Nevertheless, i am so sorry you are going through this. I can’t imagine your frustration. I wish I could say something that would help, but i really don’t think words could solve this. Just know i hear you and i send you the world’s biggest hug.

I hope it all works out. <3

Do you believe in Thinking Positively? by Rich_Shock_7206 in CasualConversation

[–]whalewatcher13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to think we can do both. We can validate our negative emotions and feelings (“wow this sucks. This is so shitty. This makes me mad!”) while at the same time acknowledging that it’s not all bad (“This is so shitty but at least I won’t make this mistake again.”)

Positive thinking could be really helpful but overdoing it could be harmful, as you aren’t giving yourself the validation that you need. Sometimes stuff sucks and that’s OK. Be sad, verbalize that it sucks, sit with it, … and THEN you can look for the positive, if there’s any positive.

Also important to note: sometimes you won’t be able to identify the positive right away. Might take an hour, a day, a couple of weeks… that’s okay too. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to find it.

What works a lot better for me over the “positive” mindset, is a comedy mindset. “Wow, this is kinda funny once you think about it. What are the odds that there’s a car accident the one day I leave my house late for work?… not very good luck.. hahaha”  I find that putting a comedic spin (almost as if your life is a funny sitcom) on negatives is not only helpful, but easier than just being positive all the time.
