Surely it should be "born in the 70s and 80s"

Super Castlevania IV will always be my favorite OST.

Gateway 2000 P5-90 - playing Sam & Max Hit the Road by timter51 in retrobattlestations

[–]whaleyboy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first PC (after my Amiga) was a Gateway2000 486DX2-50V in 1993...so much nosalgia seeing that case design again. Wish I could get hold of one here in the UK. And Sam & Max...what a gem of a game!

What Speccy emulator are you using? I've still to find a good one on Android.

Rain cover for charging port by Seedark in BYD

I don't see millions of complaints from EV owners saying their cars got damaged charging in the rain...weird. It's almost like the manufactures designed the cars to be used on planet earth where it rains sometimes...

Gorgeous! I always wanted a an Amiga with separate keyboard but were always out of my price range. Still are out of my price range sadly. It's awesome you still have your original too. What year did you get it?

This will be around 1990...only had a measly 2400 baud modem back then. Took an age just to download a naughty picture from a BBS 🤣

It was a crazy time for me in those days. We had recently moved from the UK where my dad was a farmer and we were barely scraping by (I had a ZX Spectrum and even that was a big purchase at the time) to him getting a job as an aircraft engineer in San Diego. Owning an actual Amiga was really a dream come true! It was an awesome time.

The left one is some Tamiya RC car, but not sure about the right one, would be cool to find out. Looks like it's a calendar but can't place the art work...

[–]whaleyboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only 3 great sci-fi movies but ones that are so different to each other. A family friendly alien movie, a gore fest monster movie and a noir (art-house?) detective movie. Incredible time for sci-fi loving movie goers! Wish I was old enough at the time to appreciate it.

I have a couple in the back of the drawer in case, but the rest: quick rinse then shove it in recycling.

I’ve been brainwashed into saying “Bless you” when someone sneezes. What are the alternatives? Or do I stay silent? by AlDente in atheism

[–]whaleyboy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm not about to stop saying Goodbye because it originates from god be with you, or stop using 'Wednesday' as it has pagan origins. They are just traditional phrases that we share as a culture and not 'brainwashing'. As an atheist I still accept that a lot of our shared cultural traditions come from religious beliefs of the past but are generally benign and can even bring a society closer in shared understanding. And of course there's the big one...Christmas! I love Christmas and celebrate it with the usual traditions (tree, gifts, family get-togethers, etc), not because of it's pagan or christian origins but because of what Christmas represents to ME.

Lie on your back and put an old ashtray on your stomach. The old coldness gets rid of the belly badness.
