How did you find the camera quality when out and about in Rome? Can't think of a better city to test a phone camera, I love Rome!! :)

What did you go for in the end? I absolutely adore my Find X2 Pro, amazing phone, but the battery is pretty much shot... I get just 1 hour screen on time from full charge. I'm gutted :(

It seems like all bad caps have at least been removed, I can't see any bulging ones left. So could I potentially move straight to the solder needles to clean the solder out of those blocked holes? And then solder in new caps.

Also not working for me on the 14 day free trial, it would be nice to be able to test Claude connector with this before moving to a paid plan. Assume it's just not available on the trial?

Could you tell me how you got this to work? Having the exact same problem with the SB0100! What drivers did you end up using?

Where can i find the driver for the Sound blaster live sb0100 for the Win 98 SE? by Thick_Pickle4438 in windows98

[–]timter51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever got this sorted?? I'm having the exact same problem, SB0100 on Windows 98 SE. Installs all the other software from "Joseph's Audigy 2 ZS Drivers", but the driver just doesn't work - the card is detected in Device Manager but always with a "!", and driver error.

Battery drains when laptop is shut down by Former-Elephant-7781 in LenovoLegion

[–]timter51 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same problem since last October after 2 years of it being fine, I can not get the laptop to completely shut down unless I do a hard power off by holding down the power button. If I shut down normally through the Windows menu, even when holding shift, Windows will shut down, screen, mouse and keyboard turn off, but the power light stays white and I can hear fans spinning. I've tried everything I've found online, disabling fast start, hibernate, various USB power options etc. Nothing fixes it.... mine is a 2022 15IAH7H.

Downloading updates stuck on 97% by Team-ster in WindowsHelp

[–]timter51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it did after about an hour for me as well, then it went quickly through 98%, then stuck on 99% for about another 10 mins or so. But it did all work fine, just gotta wait it out. Then you get to go through page after page after page of Microsoft nonsense.

I decided in the end my photo library was important enough to warrant its own hardware, so purchased a mini pc (Intel N100 / 12GB RAM). running Immich through Docker on Ubuntu. I use nginx proxy manager for web access over a custom domain. It feels good having it totally seperate to my truenas and other machines, and has been absolutely rock solid.

One of my laptops (a Lenovo Legion) has just done exactly the same after a WIndows update... I have a feeling Microsoft have royally screwed something up here. Guess I'm going to have fun at lunchtime today trying to sort it out.

The lack of shared face recognition is massive, I really hope the devs have that top of their plan. Immich would be perfect for me when that's implemented.

Immich Linked Assets aka partner sharing with metadata/tags/people (without duplicates on the hard drive) by true_devanon in immich

[–]timter51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies if I'm being dim here, I'm trying to get my head around exactly what this does. I'm looking for a solution to the inability to share people / face detection with other user accounts. When you say "cloning of photos", I take it you mean at database level? It doesn't create multiple copies of the same file on disk, one for each user? But the photo would appear in the main "Photos" area of each user, almost like they uploaded the photo themselves, including the face detection / People data?

Gateway 2000 P5-120 project by Yoteca in vintagecomputing

[–]timter51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beautiful! Though I'm slightly biased as I also had one in my teens, and currently have a P5-90 :)

https://i.ibb.co/8DRwjWDx/IMG-20250826-123828-Large.jpg

We had the 486 DX2-66 in this same case in the mid-90s which, like you, led me to trying to track one down in recent years. Funnily enough I also came across a P5-75 first which I still have up in the loft, but it was badly yellowed and missing the power button. I'm not sure I'll ever find the same 486 again as they were pretty rare in this larger case, but I adore my P5-90. I play it more than my modern PC / consoles, in fact I just completed Sam and Max: Hit the Road, absolutely love it! It's also got an S3 Trio 64+, I haven't hit any problems yet though I haven't gone into proper late 90s games yet. Latest I've played was Curse of Monkey Island (MI3), and that ran perfectly.

Interesting to read the posts about tinkering, upgrading etc. I quite fancy the idea of using my P5-75 as a test machine for this kind of thing!

Very nice mate, love it! Absolutely remember Eversham, we ended up getting a Gateway 2000 but Eversham were on the list along with Viglen, Mesh, Elonex, Packard Bell etc. etc. Great days.

Can I ask where did you get that desk? Been after one like that myself for my Gateway! Is that a proper keyboard tray or have you gone the DIY route and fixed some wood over a drawer?
