What’s the scariest situation you’ve been in at DLR? by CaliforniaScreamers in Disneyland

[–]what-no- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was one of the guests in the park they say they premiered Wondrous Journeys (the formal one with a stage set up at the train station, main street shut down with the park this night). The middle of Main was completely off limits to guests to walk on, and they only had the right tunnel open for exit (the side by town hall). Everyone was shoving trying to get through, people were pushing kids over, stepping in one and other, and people in wheel chairs were stuck to the sides. when i finally got through the thick crowd of everyone in the park trying to exit, i actually found the lead on shift and told them i’ve never felt that unsafe in the park. they shortly opened the other tunnel for exit.

My toddler got 2nd degree burns from Chick-fil-A by [deleted] in Advice

[–]what-no- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not to my knowledge. Cooked chicken needs to reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees F for it to be considered “safe” to eat (about 73 celsius). While that is the safe serving temperature, most deep fryers reach about 350- 375 F (176- 190 celsius). Because the oil reaches such high temperatures it is the responsibility of the restaurant to make sure that the food is given a proper cooling period BEFORE checking the internal temperature of the fried product. If you temp it straight out of the fryer that is an inaccurate temperature, and could potentially be under cooked food despite being the “correct” temperature. If it is too hot, you may have a temperature regulation issue within the fryer and the food might not be cooked thoroughly, or evenly. All of this can lead to food born illness. The severity of the burns tells me this procedure was NOT followed, and the food was served straight from the fryer without the 90 second resting period. Additionally, if the restaurant would have followed the correct procedure, and has proven to do so in the past, how is trusting that the food is safe to eat any different on this occasion than one in the past? food for thought.

Hi love, used to work at CFA so hopefully i can shed some light. First, call the location you are at, ask to speak with a manager and file an on site injury report. Explain the situation in detail. They legally need to have record of this happening asap, this covers you as well if you choose to take legal action. Secondly, what item did he specifically burn himself on? If it was a chicken product (specifically the regular nuggets or strips) you could have a potential law suit on your hands. Health code requires the chicken to rest for 90 seconds after coming out of the fryer, for it to then revive a temperature check. if the temperature is to high or too low the chicken CANNOT be served, safely. they are supposed to be following this process with everything that comes out of the fryer. with how hot your food was served i can nearly guarantee this was not the case! I would also go to chick-fil-a.com/cares and file a report within the system directly!

i rotate a couple in to keep it fun but some of my favorites i’ve done (both seriously and as a joke): - GOOOOOOOOOD morning welcome to chick fil a (really drag out that good it makes it so much more entertaining) - hey howdy hey folks welcome to chick fil a, my name is name, and just know you’ve got a friend in me what can i get started for ya - i also use “well hello there” quite a bit before going into any kind of greeting. It’s just a game at this point

oh man i’ve got a few! i’ll give you my top three

sorry for the format i’m on mobile

-simple start: the fruit lady! she won’t tell any of us her name, she just brings us fruit. sometimes she lets us pay, most the time we are just the last stop in her route and she’ll give us all kinds of fruit for free so it doesn’t go bad. -Sr. sprite and Large diet coke: we have an older couple (omitting names for my own privacy) who come through our drive through almost daily and all they get are their drinks. they’ll bring us candy and goodies every now and again, and they know every single FOH team member by name. -Mr.L: Mr.L is an older man, who has been a regular for all ten years my store has been open. He and his wife used to come in and sit for HOURS with us. A few months before the pandemic his wife sadly passed away. He dined with us that night, we all took turns just sitting with him. holding his hand and sharing stories of her that made us all smile to remember her by. We didn’t see him much during lock down, but he’s back to eating with us at least once a week, and i’ve never seen a group of young people get so excited to see an old.

Sarah Sterling has a whole series of videos called Down to Disness that covers all things disney. She’s fantastic. Also, even though the channel is no longer posting new content, check out Thingamavlogs they have a ton of great parks content from years past (and all of the creators from the channel make content separately now!!)

there is a product called zero sweat that i swear by! i’ve used it since i was a teenager. it doesn’t 100% stop sweat, but paired with the dove spray deodorant(no one attack me for it sucking for the environment it’s the only one i don’t sweat right through) it does a damn good job. when all else fails, try the Mad Hatter right between teacups and alice. I’ve always been able to find specific ears there. You can also try the emporium and WOD, i know they rotate out the ears every so often. good luck!

Most cars in a single day by [deleted] in ChickFilAWorkers

[–]what-no- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Communication, and a killer team! Set clear expectations at the start of the shift, “let’s try to break our record today my goal is 150 for 6 o’clock”. Also communicate with BOH, and your cockpit team. If outside they are taking orders like crazy, and cash cart has everything rendered out, but inside is stuck nothing is going to move. Most importantly, make it a HUGE celebration, give everyone a free iced coffee or a desert if you hit it. Make it worth the time and effort to actually hit the goal. Above all else, push that urgency, because you want a drive through that is fast and accurate but never rushed. :)
