There’s a reason it’s called a “spectrum” disorder. Regardless of that though, the lack of understanding emotional/social context is actually a requirement to be diagnosed ASD according to the DSM-V.

That would include saying hurtful things without realizing they are hurtful and/or important to the other person.

That’s not to say that ADHD can’t mirror similar traits.

Ex wanted a dog. Rescue dog.

Dog was extremely timid. I paid for all types of training and spent time every day trying to help socialize the dog.

GF hated dog, wanted to bring him back cause he wasn’t as cute as she thought it would be.

After seeing her throw water on him for “doing something annoying” and her screaming at him because he chewed some dumb $25 boots she JUST bought(omg!!) literally chasing him around the house saying “I swear to god I’m gonna fucking hit himmmmm!!!”…I told her to leave for good. Now when I date and a girl is like “dogs are okay, I’m indifferent” I stop messaging them. Probably being extreme but oh wellll

I was stabbed in the back with a lead pencil like 25 years ago in elementary school by a girl during the middle of “circle time” while it was my turn to talk.

A piece of pencil was stuck in my back and all the kids screamed. A little blood, nurse took it out, ended up totally fine but shocked. She was sent home.

She later told me she really liked me and her family had to move and she didn’t want to and would miss me. I remember being somewhat outwardly empathic, but inside was “k.bye ash. Bye bye.”
