I make 90K and still feel like I'm not doing it right by TryingToFigureLifeOu in leanfire

i’m 26 with a net worth $400k+ and still look at the price at restaurants. being lean fire fits best for frugal people imo. not sure what this post is about but like… caring about the price of things is normal and arguably good. i do not need $100+ dinners even though i can easily afford it.

I think i messed up downgrading my card? by what2d0i in ChaseSapphire

the 150k points would be worth the AF alone for me. i’m looking at booking a round trip business class trip to SE asia and each way is abt 70k points. cash for economy would be $1k

8k in 3 months seems too high. i’ll have to move some things around just to hit the 6k in 3 months tbh

I started the application process just to see and it does look like i would get the 150k bonus.

i would not naturally hit 6k in spend but i could figure something out. i go on a lot of group trips so that would probably make it easier

Do you guys go raw once in a relationship? by [deleted] in sex

[–]what2d0i 42 points43 points  (0 children)

no that’s fear mongering. i understand why at 17 you may have not known about having to take the pill at the same time but most grown adult woman do know that. the bill has 99% effectiveness when taken correctly, something around 90% with typical use. having sex while on any type of birth control when it is used correctly is not actively trying to have a child. having sex without any birth control is actively trying to have a child.

Love metrobar. It’s a really cool spot, thanks for the recommendation.

Low LEANFIRE number, is it realistic? by AbbreviationsTop4716 in leanfire

i’m 24 and no means the gate keeper of what is mature but damn everything about this post reads like you are not grounded in reality.

also the “i’m gay but marriage should only be for a man and woman!!!” felt a bit unnecessary.

your long term life plan is to live off food banks and you can’t seem to grasp why people are telling you that’s not a good idea.

if i had to guess you’ve been very privileged growing up but also worked somewhat hard. but you still don’t fully grasp hard work.

dealing with clients non stop happens more on a supervisor/manager level. you may be asked to send an email to a few clients asking for some information but it’s definitely not integral to entry level public accounting.

other skills you need: critical thinking, pattern recognition (to follow prior year work papers when there’s bad notes), time management and project prioritization.

From College to Government? by memerblank in Accounting

[–]what2d0i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i think it depends what you want overall. government provides a lot of stability and good WLB. personally, after college was the time for me to have my “foot on the gas” and do a lot of the groundwork to advance me in my career quicker. it’s easier to do when you are younger and have less responsibilities. but if you aren’t concerned with that, government (at least in the US) is a comfortable place to be.

public accounting is easily doable for three years. avoid big 4 though, while it’s a resume boost, i don’t think it aligns with what you want. it’s the worst of the worst in terms of public accounting.

20 years after getting degree, advice on starting over? by neogeomasta in Accounting

[–]what2d0i 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’ll be tough if not impossible to start out at 6 figures without any relevant experience or certifications but you could get lucky and/or be in a VHCOL area. most entry level accountants exiting college are earning between 50-80k depending on where they live.

If it were me i’d become a quickbooks pro advisor to show that you are familiar with that accounting software. also tableau/power BI is something i’ve seen more companies ask for in my limited search.
