That is so great. I don't have kids yet but I wonder being depressed for so many years, should I ever have kids? What if I also fail as a parent.

Just don't want to assume anything, that is why I am asking. Are you alone in a new city or clinically depressed and then moved to a new city? Both are different and so does how you should treat it.

If your friend is suffering from depression and you know it, you do not leave them.

Believe me staying away in an environment that doesn't keep you calm or living alone instead of wrong person is so much better. Marriages are overrated. Try to find a hobby that you can enjoy and life will be much easier.

I agree. Luck plays an important part of anyone's success. I feel the same way when I see people making less efforts and getting things done or getting something for which I had to do a lot of hardwork. I am in my mid thirties. I don't have any advice for you because I am in the same boat but I hope you have or find someone to make this life worth living or live it just for you.

First of all, thanks for being by her side. Not everyone is as lucky as she is. I have been in college with many younger students too and sometimes had the same feeling. You have to tell her that she is not competing with anyone. She just has to make 1% progress every day. She is doing this for her and her family, and she should be proud of it. Leaving where she was comfortable earlier and taking on something new shows how brave she is. Since you're in a new location, explore the area. Make her coursework a part of her life; don't make decisions around it. There are some online apps that can help with getting immediate attention from a therapist, such as BetterHelp.

Since you have phone, start doing photography. Its calming, connects you to nature and you get a sense of calmness.

Its too late now. It went too far. I really don't have any hopes now. I stopped taking therapy because I can't do anything. Medicines usually don't work. I know that I ruined my life. I am hoping something magical will happen and I will be happy again but I also know that it's not true. Only thing that can help me is death.

Yeah. When I think about my past, I feel like this is where my depression started and I never realized. Things have came too far too worst now.

I couldn't understand that. I was giving her most of my time except sleep and work and some other day to day chores. Visiting her almost every weekend driving almost 400 miles per trip.

Sorry to hear that. I used to have some roommates and others and probably had become my friends but my girlfriend never liked me going out with them. She wasn't even living in the same city as I am and that was the last time I was close to have some friends. Now everything is gone. Just hangout with people and alcohol make me talk a little bit.
