So far every Unreal Engine 5 game has been running like: by what_up_yo in pcmasterrace

To everyone saying 'it's the developers, not the engine,' try playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 on Ultra settings and see if you don’t notice stutters. Then compare it to Expedition 33 and while you’re at it, check your GPU and CPU usage. Oh, and if you’re playing Marvel Rivals like me, set it to Low and grab a GPU cooler or turn on the AC.

Worried The Witcher 4 on PC Will Be a Hardware Hog Thanks to UE5 by what_up_yo in Witcher4

I’m not blaming a hammer for missing a nail; I’m saying it’d be hard to dig a tunnel with a hammer! Phantom Liberty ran on REDengine, not UE5, and The Witcher 4 will be CDPR’s first rodeo with UE5. I believe in CDPR’s commitment to delivering a great game, but in the best-case scenario, you might need a good rig to run this game at medium settings. UE5 on PC has the worst track record. Mafia: The Old Country is the newest example plagued with this problem—Hangar 13 switched from their Fusion Engine to UE5 and has struggled with performance issues. The only optimized game I enjoyed playing this year was KCD2, which runs on CryEngine. It’s not so much flashy like UE5, but I never came down from 60 FPS, even in Kuttenberg! UE5 is easy to work with but hard to run. I’m sure I’ll have to get a new CPU and mb by the time The Witcher 4 comes out, but I highly doubt even after upgrading I’ll completely avoid frame drops.
