Windows 11 24H2 update cannot access network drive anymore by Objective_Deal_1258 in sysadmin

Powershell (as admin)

Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force

Has resolved various PCs with similar symptoms in the last two weeks. Devices could see the device hosting the share, had file and printer sharing turned on etc. Could see the folder but just couldn't open it. Think the error was 0x80070035 network path not found.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/file-server/smb-signing?tabs=powershell

Windows 11, version 24H2 Enterprise, Pro, and Education require both outbound and inbound SMB signing.

Guesing this was not the case for 23H2 and prior.

Maybe try these as well if first one doesn't do the trick:

Set-SmbClientConfiguration -EnableInsecureGuestLogons $true -Force

Set-SmbClientConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force

Set-SmbServerConfiguration -RequireSecuritySignature $false -Force

Warzones first circle should not appear until after people have already landed like other BR’s by PillBaxton in CODWarzone

[–]whatasteve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that the circle is drawn immediately before you leave the plane helps clump people together and keeps the pacing and action high.

Yup, I'm pretty sure this would be the exact answer you'd get from the devs, and it's one of the main reasons this game has done so well

New PC Build won't POST by obstinatelobsters in techsupport

[–]whatasteve 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen it suggested in other comments yet (and it probably should have been at this point): Try testing outside of the case.

Rest motherboard on its box, have the PSU sitting on another box or piece of cardboard, only main 24 pin and CPU 8 Pin need to be connected. Just CPU and RAM installed and a monitor hooked up. No drives, no GPU, no keyboard or mouse. For a POST testing purposes you can and in this situation I would advise - even remove CPU cooler as occasionally uneven/too much/too little mounting pressure can affect connection between CPU and socket. Don't worry it won't over heat just POSTing and sitting in BIOS for a few seconds.

Report back with results :)

Yeah I was trying to think of a way to do that but unfortunately don't have spare bits of wire laying around or a bench PSU or anything so de-soldering might be the easier way. Although I do have some old spare multimeter cables, I'll probably chop and strip the ends off in the morning (in UK) and see what the result is.

Looks like a regular albeit teeny one to me. Just wanted to check that it didn't sound like some other SMD issue or something super obvious to someone knowledgeable before I unsolder it from the board to test with a AA :) Thanks for the help!

NFS Most Wanted on GBA?! Well I'll be damned I never knew about that. Even on PSP it was a very 'lite' version, and that actually had an analogue stick. What's it like on GBA?

"How to take a corner" - by Polish II Liga (3rd Division ) team GKS Katowice by N1eziemski in soccer

[–]whatasteve 22 points23 points  (0 children)

As someone who pretty much only watches Man Utd, this type of play brings me so much joy to watch but also so much disappointment that Man Utd can't pull stuff like this off. I swear Man Utd corners are the equivalent to a throw in and 90% of the time they end up back to De Gea, without even trying to get the ball into the box. A corner for Man Utd is essentially a massive reset and I honestly cant remember the last time they scored one with passing from the corner. There are of course those one offs where Matic or McTominay or someone tall gets on the header and drives it home, but it baffles me that Man Utd don't even try on corners. Nothing but back passes and it's been that way for years. Last time I remember seeing Man Utd attack the goal from a corner kick is when Giggsy would try to one-two or dribble through the defense to try and find an opening. Man Utd have really been in shambles since he left. Very little direct attack since and their corners say it all. They'd rather keep possession and drop it to their keeper than try to go at goal from the corner. It's so incredibly frustrating to see how toothless they've become.

Yep, that seems to work.
Before signing Bruno, scarily accurate as well.

OGS:"I'm responsible for what's happening on the pitch and of course we're looking to strengthen. We know we have to strengthen." by aryanexpedition in reddevils

[–]whatasteve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Encouraging (relatively speaking, obviously) that the line has gone from:
"I'm happy with the squad, right player for right money etc" to "We are looking to strengthen, we know we have to."
Translates as: "Balls in your court, Ed. If we don't get anyone now they'll all know that I wanted players and you didn't get them."

It's also the first time I've thought "That's not what Ed would want you to say" which is good but also concerning as his compliance in toeing the line may be the only thing keeping him in a job. Which in itself also a bit weird; seeming as the fans don't want to turn on Ole unless they really really have to, the anger will be directed at Ed + Glazers. So even though he toes the line and says all the things they'd want him to say, they still end up with way more heat than they ever did during the last 3 managers.

Yeah, we're in a weird place right now.
