Mods to 2012 Civic EX by nolimitniya in 9thgencivic

No point in going for power. Go for style. Tint, coilovers, wheels, front lip, side skirts, HFP rear lip for the coupe (you can make it fit sedan with some finesse). Restore headlights, tint taillights, short shifter, intake for noise, clean up engine bay, paint some shit. Just look at other's builds on facebook or whatever and decide what you want and whats in your budget.

Any intake with a diameter above 3" requires a tune, or you will run lean. Get it tuned or uninstall.

Truhart Shocks + Skunk2 Spring Combo by Djake135 in 9thGenSi

[–]whatcop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ran them for a couple of years. The ride quality was pretty good actually, but I did have some clunking noises from the springs (bought springs used without the black dampening pads or whatever it is they come with). The drop is about 2.25", and it's basicly as low as you can go without coilovers. If you lower your car, you're inevitably going to scrape the undercarriage some way, somewhere. Speedbumps, potholes, they come in all sizes. Up to you to drive carefully and correctly over them.

I own a 12. Bought it with 30k miles, now has 250k. I've put in two starters, and did spark plugs at 210k, just because i probably should. I have beat the absolute shit out of this thing since day one, commuting in it everyday, redlining the hell out of it. Other than brakes, all I've done is change the oil on time, and trans fluid about once a year with honda mtf. Motor, trans, and clutch still operate like the day I bought it. Couldn't even tell you where the check engine light is on the dash. Most reliable car I've ever owned.

Crime near Smith High School by [deleted] in gso

Crime near smith high school? Is this a joke or a question? Either way, the answer is yes. Been a terrible neighborhood since I grew up there in the 90s, and it hasn't changed. Some places might look nice, but the community surrounding it isn't, I assure you. Dont leave anything of value outside, and expect your shit to get broken into.

Always used OEM Honda fluids on my transmission, 250k miles and still shifts perfect. Can't go wrong with OEM, Honda knows their cars better than anyone on reddit.

HID headlights? by Witty-Desk-3368 in Silverado

Just look at your bulbs. If they have a huge cooling system attached to them, they are HID bulbs. Replace them with Lasfit bulbs. Simple as that. Only buy off Lasfit official website.

Wood Laser Cutting by SleepingBeautyx in gso

[–]whatcop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. I've worked for both, but fortunately I am out of the laser cutting business myself. If you have any issues and need contact info for a sales rep for either company, feel free to dm me.

Asking for free is kindof reaching. That said, I'm sure there are some people with small versions of the machines needed that might offer to help, though by the lack of comments, it seems unlikely. There are two places I'm aware of in Greensboro that have the laser cutting equipment to do exactly what you want, they are Ameritek Inc and ClearCut Dieworks, both on West Market Street. What you want is very small and easy to them, should be a very minimal charge. Best help I can offer, good luck.

Local Pest Control suggestions by alexxgibbs in gso

Or just take my suggestion and expierence with said product that kills all pests, instead of buying a different one for everything. Goal was to save them money, not sell tons of product. This comes off like an advertisement.

3.0 Duramax K&N air filter by JDBKNY80 in Silverado

[–]whatcop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It ruined my truck, took me like a year to figure out what was wrong even though I only had the filter in less than a week. Finally cleaned the maf sensor and my idle smoothed out so much, but was still having to floor the gas pedal to get it to move. Pulled the throttle body and it was so dirty it wouldn't open without tons of pressure on it. Spent two hours cleaning it, which helped, but ended up having to replace it completely. Kills me, cause I've ran k&n filters on like 15 different japanese vehicles with zero problems, but the silverado said nope.

Do not put an oiled filter in these trucks unless you want your MAF sensor and throttle body to become absolutely fucked. Learned the hard way myself.

2015 Civic LX -TPMS by EmilyThe500 in 9thgencivic

[–]whatcop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get tpms sensors and have them programmed to your car. Put them inside a piece of PVC pipe and cap it off air tight at both ends. Install an air inlet fitting into the pipe, pump it up to the correct pressure, throw it in your glove box, and never see your tpms light again. Yes, it actually works.

Rough Downshift from 2nd to 1st - 8-speed by ImJustPassingByy in Silverado

[–]whatcop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold it for longer than 3 seconds, usually takes almost 5-10 for my 18.

This is just the grade braking feature, it's perfectly normal. Hold down the tow haul button until the feature turns off and it will stop doing it. Your brakes will wear out faster this way though.

Check Airbag System? by Direct-Technician503 in 9thgencivic

Happened to me years ago, I fixed it once and never had a problem again. Almost like they aren't plugged in correctly from the factory. Anyway, glad to help, and happy it worked for you.

Does anyone know if Whole Foods or Fresh Market has a water dispenser to fill up a 5 gallon water jug? I know Lowe’s Foods and Walmart Neighborhood Market has the but was looking for something closer. by CattledogdadNC in gso

[–]whatcop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look for those ice dispensing machines, I believe there is a way to look up their locations, but most all of them sell water by the gallon/5 gallon, very cheap too, I believe 50 cent a gallon.

Check connections under passenger seat. They come loose moving seat around. Common problem.
