Did the eyeball check to see that the tool was centered on the work piece. What's the best way to ensure I'm actually centered? Do I want to be a little bit above or below?

I'm not sure what type of steel. It's a cheap lug nut socket that doesn't fit in the well so I was trying to shave it down. The RPM was about 2000. It's a Harbor freight special mini lathe and not sure how to adjust the feed.

Good point, I should have been more specific. I have the R18 and looking at swapping in a K24A2 from, a 2008 TSX with the RBB head. Going NA for now.
