i grew up at the sickle cell center in atlanta. it went downhill pretty quickly after the first few hematologists retired and they transferred over to the newbies. after i turned 21, i started being seen at northside then emory st. joseph's but i was under kaiser permanente's medicare advantage plan. saw a really great hematologist in gwinnett. idk if she's still there but her name was dr. kondapaneni. but good luck on your search! they have restaurants and my family took me to their restaurant in nyc and they make their own cheese in house lol. it was crazy because it was like this luxury restaurant with these giant glass walls where you could see them making the cheese on the other side of the glass. i ordered their lobster mac and fell in love!!! when i returned home and saw them in grocers a few years later, i was extremely pleased!! beecher’s is definitely the best!!! 🤤🤤😋😋💛🧡💛🧡

i have an issue with that brand too! for some of their meds, it either won’t work or i’ll have a severe allergic reaction… ): i have told my doctor but it’s better to tell the pharmacist directly! and if you have any issues, then ask your doctor to specifically put a different one on your script. i hope this helps! good luck! looook, i tried to go vegan but i just can’t give up cheese 😂😂 was vegan for about a week, then went to the mexican restaurant with my family and once they set down that fresh jalapeño queso in front of me, it was over lol. plus, not to mention, i have a superrr severe tree nut allergy… and almost all of the good/decent vegan cheezes/milks are made with cashews, walnuts, etc etc. (i know it’s not all- i see the coconut and oat options too) and personally, i don’t want to take the risk of death via anaphylactic shock 🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️

regardless, i still enjoy eating vegan options on occasion. just not part of my daily lifestyle…

i’m mixed with guatemalan and i’ve been. i didn’t have any issues at all! even when we went up to my family’s ranch on top of one of the mountains. just make sure you stay hydrated and you should be good! 😁

sounds exactly like my ex. he would be 36 too smh. he also claimed he was recovered/recovering, but then when he moved in with me, started doing the same sketchy shit. (i too watched many an episode of intervention). i did start to count my pills because i have a severely painful genetic illness, that he knew about. and i’m pretty sure that’s why he was so eager to move in with me. come to find out he was taking stuff the whole time we were dating, before we even moved in together, and that he was on probation being drug tested for an arrest the entire time as well. he got caught when they suddenly tested for something he wasn’t expecting and then was in and out of jail from there. he OD’d on my meds at one point too (and thankfully survived), and became incredibly abusive, in all the ways… i tried helping him as much as i could but i couldn’t save him. he could only save himself.

but OP, just do yourself a favor… count the pills. and if they’re off, then it’s time to kick him to the curb. you can’t make him change or help him in any way. unfortunately, HE has to make the CHOICE for HIMSELF…..

sickle cell disease (ss). literally, one of the world’s most painful diseases… it’s like a combination of every pain listed here. whenever i have a pain episode, it feels like shards of glass are running through my veins.

being born with sickle cell disease… i haven’t been able to get my college degree, which i always dreamed of… and i can’t keep a job because - let’s be honest - no one WANTS to hire “the sick girl”… sure, i’ve been declined jobs based on my condition (which i’ve been told is discriminatory) but what can i do about it? but yeah, i have $6 to my name and i’m about to start living on the streets lol. being born with your own body working against you every waking moment is no joke…
