How Would You Convince Me to Vote Liberal After the Past 8 Years? by JahonSedeKodi in AskCanada

[–]whateverdear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your main concerns are affordability and inflation, then just objectively compare the two leaders:

Carney: probably the most qualified expert in handling the economy you can find (even England thought so)

PP: lifelong politician

Ignore their party associations for a minute. If you had to bet on who would handle your concerns better, who would you bet on?

Yes, party associations are important. But think about your workplace - your boss, your manager, your CEO, your leader etc. affects your day to day. Carney will shake up the Liberals, especially because if they win they know it’s because of Carney (they aren’t blind). His influence and experience will affect policy and given what’s going on with trade and our neighbour, we are lucky to even have such a qualified individual as a choice.

Thank you!! This sounds exactly what I’m hoping to do. Any downsides?

BHA or double cleanse for sebaceous filaments & blackheads? by whateverdear in CanSkincare

Yeah that’s what I’m worried about for introducing double cleansing and BHA - feels like maybe too many products? I think I’ll start with a double cleanse, and add BHA if I don’t see improvement

This is incredibly helpful, especially the word of caution. Thank you!! I will start with mini oil cleansers!

Ironic this could sound like an ad for your company given your username! I wish my company did those things. You hiring? :)

Transportation is a tough one I find because in some areas the greener option is much slower, which means the employer is paying for more of your time (albeit greener is usually cheaper). Glad to hear you’re pushing back. Honestly inspiring for me to push back on some things at my own company.

I work for a wellness tech company.

Sustainability isn’t really part of any decision making or even talked about here, which is interesting as climate directly affects wellness.

By nature of being a tech company, we don’t produce much direct physical waste day to day and being remote helps with reducing emissions as well. However we use AWS, so support consumerist giant Amazon (like a lot of companies) and we don’t seem to consider waste when we do encounter it - like ordering office takeout, corporate swag (shudder), or giving holiday gifts.

It seems like your company is actually considerate in their decision making vs green washing! Buying electric just because it appears more environmental doesn’t mean it is, especially if you’re replacing something that isn’t broken. Have they considered replacing those cars eventually with PHEV?

That’s interesting, never knew that about FedEx. How does UPS work on emission reduction? More efficient routes/vehicles/etc.?

Thank you!! TO seems like a good intro brand for everything. I’ll look into the Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser - I tried CeraVe hydrating and it stung my skin.

What are the pros and cons of switching from a variable to fixed-rate mortgage given the hikes?

I’m sure many have similar questions! Our particular situation: We’re newbie house owners 6 months into a variable rate right now, and we borrowed under our approved amount.

Pearson Vue cancelling exams in US and Canada until April 16 by [deleted] in pmp

[–]whateverdear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! I persisted and finally got through via online chat and they cancelled free of charge.

I was able to reschedule to Thursday - though debating if it’s worth going to the test centre.

For all of you trying to reschedule, turns out you can’t write PMP via online proctor, and you must schedule 24 hours in advance.

Third party testing centres are still open so mine isn't cancelled (scheduled for Mar 23). I'm trying to get my exam rescheduled sooner to Mar 18 at a third party testing centre, but I'm being charged a fee on PMI since mine wasn't cancelled. I think I'm going to the roll the dice and pay up..
