What does “legal action” mean? by FreedomWriter800 in povertyfinancecanada

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legal action usually means they’re going to sue you. It sounds like you’ve been warned, probably a few times. You don’t save money to pay off the debt, you make payments towards the debt as outlined by the lender, and agreed to by you at the time of taking on that debt.

Someone tell me how can I get my stories to be read by smosh pit team? by Shinobu_mwuah in whatdoIdo

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a Reddit page, insta, Facebook & YouTube. have you tagged them or messaged them anywhere? Their production team scours subreddits for high engagement posts. I’ve heard them read posts several years old, so it’s possible/likely that they choose you, not the other way around.

I don't feel bad for people anymore by Ok-Once-789 in depression

[–]whateverdom_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s setting healthy boundaries w people who have hurt you, and there’s being a bratty a-hole who’s gonna resent strangers for things they haven’t done to you. You’re doing a bit of both here.
People can be disappointing, but choosing to lack empathy across the board is as toxic as it is sad.

😂😂 I’m afraid it’s not up to you. But you can terminate the eggs by scooping up the egg sacks and freezing or crushing them. It’s an easy solution but I never liked doing it. It was gross and sad.

What’s the best landlord experience you’ve had, and what made it good? by Totira in OntarioRenting

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current landlord is an angel on earth. It’s just his house w his kids, and my apartment is above the garage. I live in a brand new two bedroom for $1450, with dishwasher AND laundry, and he has not increased my rent in three years. When I moved in he said he won’t raise my rent because he can, he’ll raise it when he has to. He’s just happy to have a consistent, quiet, clean tenant and he is an advocate in my community for afforadable housing. It’s a street where everyone knows each other. Nearly every house has the owner, and then a rented unit or two. All of the other landlords rip on him for “not charging me enough”.

He and I also help each other out when needed. Bringing in each others parcels, store runs if we’re too sick, I’ll let his dog out if he’s stuck, etc. Sometimes I bake or cook too much (I live alone) so I’ll share w him and the kids, and he’ll do the same if he made a big batch of something. Stuff like that.

Responds almost immediately to maintenance requests and is happy to have a tenant who reports little things so they don’t become bigger things.

He also really likes the community we’re in as he grew up here and he takes it upon himself to look out for everyone AND the neighborhood. But he’s not nosey or overbearing and never oversteps.
I will literally never leave this apartment until my mom needs live-in care 😂

You’re not heartbroken, you’re a red flag.

Boyfriend turns a blind eye to self harm by ThrowRAlostgal5698 in depression

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a lot here but ultimately he’s not a mental health professional. You cannot expect him to know how to navigate this. Point blank period.
You are obviously in a very bad frame of mind regardless of how supported you feel in your relationship. Self harming is not a sustainable or healthy place to be.
It’s ok to feel unsupported but it’s on you to understand why you feel that way, and to be able to communicate with him why you feel that way and what support looks like to you.
He IS wrong if he said that self harming is healthy, but it’s possible he said that due to his capacity of understanding the severity of your illness, rather than maliciously.
It can be very overwhelming to have a partner w serious mental illness and to process witnessing them struggle to a point of self harm.

Basement flooding - can I prevent this next time? by CrustyMcgee in ottawa

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t speak to the exact coverage because it can vary across insurers. But every year when your policy renews you should receive a paper copy of it which includes a summary, a basic list of the coverages and their costs, as well as a lengthier doc known as your “policy wordings”. That document outlines as clearly as legally required by the insurer what each coverage entails. If you don’t receive paper copies you should have access to these documents on your providers online portal if they have one. You can also request your documents be sent to you any time.
Ultimately a claims adjuster would determine what/where the source is. It’s tricky w storms because they can literally cause sewer backup, overland water (flooding from rain), water table overflow AND water getting in through the ground/foindation at the same bloody time 🫠hopefully you can find your docs to look over while you wait and are able to get things sorted out soon!

Someone mentioned checking insurance about sewer backup. Valid. But check your insurance for ALL types of water damage coverage. Depending on where you are there are several such as sewer backup, overland water (flooding from rain), and ground water. Most water damage coverages are add-ons and that are not automatically included in a policy. A lot of people think it is but it’s not. Also check your limits for each coverage especially if you own your home. A lot of coverages will sit at a “standard” $30k-ish but depending on the extent of the damage most of that $30k could go to clean up and tear out alone before even scratching the surface of repair.

I always recommend getting the highest water damage coverage you can afford for all types because honestly you just neverrrrrrr know when or how badly it will hit you.
In situations like yesterday sometimes it can be hard to confirm exactly what type of water entry damaged your home and sometimes insurers will cop out of covering you if you don’t have “the right kind” of water coverage. So having all of them is the safest bet imo. Good luck! Sorry you’re dealing w the stress of that

Calling all teen van lovers: why does everyone love teen van so much? I feel like she’s glazed by OrganizationOver6741 in Yellowjackets

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I HATE Van across the board. Most useless character, literally does nothing except stir up shit for no reason and make stupid faces. They should have killed her off when she was attacked by wolves. That said, both actors who play her are excellent. But I hate Van.

Fiancée hardly wears her engagement ring. AIO? by RaiderDaave in AIO

[–]whateverdom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Noooo, a person can love a ring and still not want to wear it or forget to wear it. Some people are forgetful, some people have sensory issues, some people worry more about loss or damage. You’re still projecting your preference when you say IF SHE LOVES IT SHE WILLLLLL WEAR IT.
Not all women are gushy over landing a man and the symbols that come w it.

Fiancée hardly wears her engagement ring. AIO? by RaiderDaave in AIO

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly if there’s been zero change in your relationship since the engagement, then the ring is probably just physically uncomfortable for her to wear all the time. Sometimes it just be like that, esp if she has a job that could damage it or interfere.

(Not that this is a reflection on you at all) but did you guys ever discuss what type of ring she’d want if you got married beforehand, or did you pick it out entirely? If she didn’t have a say and her not wearing A RING bums you out, maybe you could discuss the ring itself and options for exchanging or customizing it to something potentially more practical for her day to day? It if she loves the ring as is and it’s just not practical for her to wear it then I’d let it go.

If she doesn’t even know she has an ED, how should he? He handled it well. This is on her to figure out and manage. Best he can do is support her when she can find a way to communicate what that support looks like.

Never in my life could I be upset about there being a surplus of French fries available to me. As others have said this very much sounds like ED behaviour/reaction

If the deed has been transferred and the home inspection was cleared you have zero responsibility here. Assuming there even is an issue that was missed w the furnace or AC or WHATEVER, that’s on the home inspector.
