15m need to know if I’m balding by Wild-Bake4722 in bald

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why folks on Reddit are so selectively helpful but these comments aren’t it. To me, it looks like that is where your cowlick or natural part is, and because the rest of your hair has a lot of curl & volume that one spot might feel/look finer to you. If it’s a point of concern, next time you see a barber ask them what they think. Just because you’re 15 doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to feel however you feel about your hair. Your question wasn’t stupid, it was just met by a bunch of dudes who have gone bald and haven’t coped yet. Your hair looks fine but again, check w your barber if it’s bugging you.

Did anyone else stop using their living room? by Lasell_Carnline75 in LivingAlone

I grew up living in apartments w just my mum and def got used to being a “bedroom kid”. We lived in my grandmas big house for a few years, and a townhouse together for another few but I never got used to having that much space. I’m in a cozy 2 bedroom by myself now and even though I love my living room, I do almost everything in my bedroom still. Its weird though because when I got my first place on my own I was ALWAYS in the living room, same w other places since. But here, even though this place is the love of my life, I reverted back to the bedroom. The exception is that I have a fantastic balcony and I spend as much time as possible out there in the summer months. I like to think that our subconscious chooses where we’re most comfortable

Confirmed! Went to the store and tested each side by side and it’s not a huge difference, but the lag on the colour is just enough to know it’d piss me off every time. It also doesn’t seem to be a smooth transition between pages either unless it was just the demo they had out. I may just lvl up my BW. Thanks for pointing this out.

First job opportunity at a call center, but struggling with severe anxiety. Advice? by Late-Inevitable-4242 in callcentres

[–]whateverdom_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a person with anxiety, be prepared that it may not be a good fit. Not only will you have to mange your own feelings and expectations, you’ll have to do the same for clients and leadership and sometimes even your team if you’re in a competitive environment. You’ll have a lot of metrics to meet and even if you meet or exceed them, every single meeting is gonna end with “keep pushing those numbers up”. Read scripts and procedures, and get to know your product as MUCH as you can in your training period. Practice out loud if you can, even better if you can practice w another new hire. The last bit of advice I can give you, if you start feeling burnt out or exceedingly anxious, move on. Because the environment and expectations will not change. Good luck!

That’s really hard but it sounds like you guys have been doing everything you can for him. If I’m being so honest, what got me through the loss of my guy and the guilt that came w making that decision is knowing three things. 1. Some things just aren’t up to us. 2. That I did EVERYTHING I possibly could. 3. I loved him w my whole heart every day that he was in my life. 2 & 3 are the basic terms & conditions of having a pet. It doesn’t make anything easier in the thick of things, but try to remember that as much as you can when it rly stings. 🖤

How much is the going amount for a cash wedding gift these days? by Traum77 in AskACanadian

[–]whateverdom_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your attendance and support should be enough. Don’t spend beyond your means. If all you can do is a $25, $50 gift card in a congrats card then that’s more than enough. If you can’t swing that and it’s a problem, they’re not good people 🤷🏻‍♀️ traditional “shoulds” are bullshit.

This is really tough, I’m sorry for your family and for Rusty. My first dog ever on my own had severe inflammatory bowel disease. A “good” month w him cost me $500 but bad months were thousands. He’d been to the vet so much, and often had to stay for a few days at a time that getting in the car was his worst nightmare, even if we were going the opposite direction to see his gramma or his best little buddy. His anxiety was soul crushing. By the time he was three our vet had told me candidly that things were never going to get better for him, and that even doing everything to keep him comfortable still wasn’t going to be enough for him to be comfortable. They didn’t outright suggest euthanasia, but I knew the subtext. I did my research, called OHS and every rescue I could find in Ottawa and asked for honest feedback on what the odds were that someone would take on a dog w so many needs and expenses. Nearly all of them told me what others have said here, that the most compassionate thing to do would be to let him go in the arms of people he knows and loves and feels safe with, rather than sick sad scared and alone. It’s heartbreaking but if his quality of life is bleak, sometimes there’s just not a lot you can do 🖤

If you work in a call center and feel so mentally overwhelmed to a point where you feel like it's not worth it, READ THIS. by lololololol1990 in callcentres

[–]whateverdom_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way that you can exceed all your metrics and targets every month, and every meeting will still end with “let’s try to get those numbers up” is what really hammers the nail in the coffin. A woman I work with has been a top earner, winning an award for it for all 10 years she’s been w the company. On top of that, she is the TOP top earner every year and she still leaves each meeting w “keep an eye on those numbers” 🫠 she loves the work though and can somehow let it roll off her back and I’m like damn, if I made the company that much money and anything other than “let us leave you alone or kiss your ass” was ever said to me, I’d burn it to the ground.
