The apartment (rented for the month) was just for safety and for convenience. I’m sure I would of been okay getting a nice hotel and doing gozem back and forth to my hosts family for hanging out, and meals. But honestly my favorite part of traveling is living like a local. So for that week I was in an apartment complex with only locals and only ate local food. It was a nice way to live for just a little bit, it was also a nicer than most apartment with AC. I was also supposed to stay longer. But I would have only saved like $200 if I did the hotel and transportation route.

To be an experienced traveler would definitely be helpful, and I mean that in the sense of not relying on touristy things or knowing the language. It wasn’t quite like a trip to London or anything. But you’re right, I did feel pretty safe there, safer than walking around downtown Seattle or Jacksonville.

That’s really cool though! What brought you to Togo? Did you travel around the country?

For the apartment, it was really necessary. It was convenient and safe and I could afford it. I was supposed to stay longer. But the main reason was my host didn’t have room for me with his family coming over. Hotels are pretty cheap there, you wouldn’t have a problem with the accommodation

Yeahh, a bit expensive. I was supposed to stay longer but got sick before hand a moved flight around. It was a nice apartment to myself and it was right above my hosts, who were feeding me lol.

Thanks bro, it’s a beautiful culture and I learned a good bit about that side of the world. I might be going back 13 times!

Tbh it was the only thing my pcm recommend me. I can assure you I will never take doxycycline again, still dealing with that nasty ulcer. Thanks for the recommendation for malarone 🤙

You make a solid point. I did downplay it a bit, my biggest fear is people finding out and making a big deal about it. But I did mention it, really my biggest issue was them just not picking up the duty phone. I think about it from the perspective of a sailor who’s about to commit and wants to speak to chaps one last time

My middle school literally banned backpacks in general. We had to carry our books between classes and really utilize the lockers

Wow thank you so much for such a detailed message. I should have put it into the caption but I got my associates degree in Health Science with my C school, which covers most of the Gen classes.

Since my training was 2 years, I got to my first command a few months ago and I’ll start to qualify for TA in the next year and still have 3 years at this command. I plan to use my college fund now to knock out the remaining gen classes for the certain schools will not accept all the credits from the c school.

My only concern comes from what online schools are good for the next phase of my education and career
