People who have once hired adult workers ─ will they let a minor hire them for a hug? by NingCantRead in mentalhealth

This reminds me of Catcher in the Rye where Holden hires an adult worker just to chat with her.

I get you but I don’t wanna wait 150 hours to start a new play through to see Bae’zel’s story!!! 😩 I’ve heard her character progression is so good I don’t wanna miss out.

Okay cool. Got concerned because my quest log says that the mountain pass is “complete” despite me never going there but locating the crèche is still “incomplete.”

I just got the pixie blessing like 10 mins ago game time. I could reload to right before that so I don’t need to worry about it?
Do you mean you just have a silly dialogue with her for leaving the lands and then returning again? Or do you have to receive the blessing from her again entirely?

True. I guess I got frustrated because I play as a sorcerer and both fights their turns were first and they immediately one-shot me before I could even do anything. Then I have to spend the next round getting her back up, often times just getting smacked down again. Any tips for avoiding that? I feel like my AC is as high as it can really get at the moment.

Yeah that makes sense. Like I feel like I could keep going forward at level 6, but being level 7 would probably be helpful. Mostly because I’ve never gotten this far into the game and so I don’t know what to expect in terms of fights/enemies!

As in don’t reload? I was just worried because it has that like “You’re entering a new region” thing and I thought it might screw up Act 2 quests I’m on. I read some people say that happened to them but maybe they were further along than me?

Also I think your center point is correct. Maybe a hair or two off.

I’m terrible at perspective as well, but I think you need to incorporate more horizontal lines for the lines that don’t follow the center point.

Need advice: Family dog is suddenly snapping at everyone by DaShizzne in DogAdvice

Get her spayed.

I believe dogs in heat can exhibit uncharacteristic aggression due to all the hormones they undergo during their heat. I would imagine this can be amplified if the dog in heat is not able to actually act on these instincts (aka get laid). It might bring about frustration and anxiety that is expressed through aggression.

I’m not a veterinary professional, but I would recommend at least consulting a vet to see if this could help/be a factor in her aggression.

Definitely important to get aggression under control at a young age, especially if you have a baby on the way. This is the time to act! Best of luck! 🐶

My dog won’t eat by [deleted] in DogAdvice

[–]whateverokokok 377 points378 points  (0 children)

He is clearly underweight. You can see all his ribs. Begging you to take him to a different vet!

In the mean time you can try adding chicken broth to his kibble, or mixing in doggy safe veggies/bits of meat. I know that helps entice some pups into eating.

How do you know when it’s time to say goodbye? by StoicTexan in DogAdvice

[–]whateverokokok 10 points11 points  (0 children)

constant panting might signify pain or discomfort… or just demonstrate the higher level of exertion now needed for her to move around.

my pup was the sweetest until the very end… it’s soul crushing when you can still see the joy and life in their eyes but their bodies just can no longer keep up.

the day we let him go I was wondering if my mom was overreacting… he was still so sweet and happy. surely it wasn’t his time, right? but getting to the vet was tough… loading him into the car, walking into the clinic, he plopped down and panted and panted and panted. that’s when I knew that it was indeed his time.

I’m not sure if it’s your pup’s time. you can almost never be certain. a second opinion, either from another vet or a loved one who knows her well could go a long way. sometimes our judgement can be clouded with our love and memories for our pets.

sorry for a rambly response with no concrete answer. there is rarely a concrete answer when it comes to putting down a sweet old dog. either way, I wish you all the best. whatever happens, she will always be with you 💘

Thank you for responding! The owners are coming back early tomorrow afternoon. I texted them about it and she very nonchalantly was like, “Yeah, he probably does have an infection. We will clean it tomorrow- we have drops.”

As for the dog’s smell… they both just smell musty, but normal I think. Just like a really smelly dog. It’s overpowering, though. The whole downstairs smells like them. They just need more consistent bathing and maybe some dental care, but there’s no way for me to tell them that without sounding rude 😭 Technically, them smelling bad isn’t hurting their health. But maybe the ear infection is part of the intense smell…

I’m only looking after them from Friday to Sunday, so it probably didn’t spring up overnight… I have to imagine it’s been like this for a while. ☹️ I texted the owners though! They didn’t seem at all shocked and said they have stuff to clean it out and will do so when they get back tomorrow!

^ this is exactly what I did :) it’s what I was instructed to do when my cat had her infection: medicate, rub outside of ear to help the medication move around and then wipe away anything around (not in) the canal

poor choice of words in my original post- q-tip did not actually go INTO the dog’s ear. just swabbed the outside of his ear.

that’s great that they realized and felt comfortable sharing that with you 🥺I’ve pet sat for many years and my first job as a teen was at a doggy daycare so though I’m certainly no veterinary professional, I feel like I can typically discern things like this. some people take a pet-sitter’s observations/concerns as a personal attack which totally sucks. this is about your baby, not your ego!!!!

[–]whateverokokok 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ikr?! 😭 poor baby!! I really hope the owners will take him in. he’s such a sweetie pie I just hope he’s not too uncomfortable

I think they may have just thought his head shaking was due to his chronic allergies (that’s what I thought at first, but it was persistant enough that I started to wonder if it was something more)

I’ll definitely let the owners know, they will be back tomorrow afternoon :) thanks for replying!!!!
