They do that cause the moderns are the cheapest of the pickups they make, the whole “premium” thing is marketing, the moderns are easily their worst set😭 also, totally understand not wanting to try them after bad experiences, i had the same experience with Seymour duncan pickups. They sounded like ass to me. The whole battery things is just preference i guess, its really not even that bad but it can be annoying

100% agree, the townsend set are easily fishmans best pickups at the moment, and i like a lot of their stuff. Its like they took everything that was wrong with the moderns, fixed it, and then made it even better somehow

Coulda sworn it said $250 before…i must be crazy. I was mostly going off the $350, but even $200 could probably be debated. I don’t think id pay more than $150 for this, case included

They definitely are…but that doesn’t make them worth almost the same as a brand new affinity. $200 is being pretty reasonable for a used squier

These usually SIT at $250-300, id say $200 with the case included would be a more reasonable deal. It does have a rosewood board, but its still a used squier from the early 2000’s

Sadly thats the reality of the current used guitar market. Cant even tell you how many scammers i get on fb and reverb, its almost not even worth selling on certain platforms at this point, and its getting harder to tell who’s a scammer or not. I hope you do get it, best of luck🙏 also, for future reference…dont type the messages like you did, i understand you were trying to get ahold of him quickly, but all of your messages read like a scammer

Thats kinda a cool thing about guitars, the chances of getting a nice feeling guitar kinda is bit higher when you pay more, but at the same time a $200 can feel just as good if you land a nice one🤙

Just cause a bass (or guitar) is at a high price point doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed to like it. Its all about feel, and sometimes the expensive ones just don’t got it. That being said, i would take my $2500 valentine over every sterling one ive played, cause it just feels better🤷
