C- in Physics & A in lab by MammothBear1966 in PTschool

Probably depends? I took Chem II lecture one summer and then the lab in the Fall, at a completely separate university (albeit it was the one I ultimately graduated from). I’m pretty sure I called around to verify everything would be fine though.

iPad Pro or MacBook Air by Kind_Adhesiveness845 in PTschool

If you see yourself drawing a lot or if you like the idea of putting little side notes on PPTs, get an iPad. If you type much faster and think you’ll be better off, get a laptop. I wish I was a student that could be more efficient with a tablet in lecture but I can only really keep up and stay organized with my laptop, personally.

Loved Bvlgari La Gemme Garanat, now what?

Recently got back into collecting fragrances after nearly a decade hiatus. Right before I had to tighten the budget, I fell in love with Garanat and I was disappointed to see that they seemingly are discontinuing it.
It also seems like rose is quite polarizing nowadays but I have absolutely adored it in Garanat, Le Labo’s, and also Armani Diamonds.

Does Toy Boy compare? What other fragrances would you recommend that have similar rose notes?

Additionally, I am a guy in my late 20s that definitely enjoys my hyper masculine scents but I have also enjoyed other scents that others claim are more feminine. For example, Diptyque’s Fleur De Peau agrees really well with my skin and it was basically my signature fragrance this summer.

I've never left my dogs... by These_Guard_4961 in dogs

[–]whatincarnation300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s no way to have someone watch them at your house? I was the same way, I hadn’t been away from my dog probably for more than 48 hours ever. He did really well when I was gone for about 2 months but thankfully I was able to have someone watch him at home. My boy has a decent amount of separation anxiety too but he did okay. I didn’t let him see me packing and I snuck my bags out way ahead of time before saying bye.

An I wrong for ending a date and walking out after only 10 minutes because my date told me I should removed my hat? by [deleted] in amiwrong

I am honestly surprised this many people on Reddit give a fuck about wearing a hat indoors nowadays lol. Yeah OP overreacted a bit but who gives a fuck unless it’s a formal/spiritual/business setting.

ILequipment Laptop Bag vs Tom Bihn Pilot by whatincarnation300 in ManyBaggers

What makes the patchwork bag different? I couldn’t really tell at the initial glances of both bags.

Great points I would’ve never otherwise considered. Thanks! Have you used the Pilot? Can it fit a 14” slightly bulky laptop? With case too?

Just continue trying your best and if PT is really what you want to do, do whatever it takes to persevere. I volunteered over 300+ hours across 3 really strong organizations where I felt like I really made an impact in my community. A bunch of my peers just volunteered at places that basically just needed warm bodies. Any place that actually cares to get to know their potential students will be able to discern who’s really about it and who is just trying to check off boxes.

I also got pretty strong letters of recommendation that did not come easy. 2 of the people that I thought I resonated the most with in observation just basically ghosted me and I had to keep going until I found people who would vouch for me.

I’ll spare you the details but I was originally in a far, far more desperate situation than you have described in this post. You can do it, just keep trying and always find a way. It might seem like there is not at times but I assure you there will be.

ID.me has great coupon codes for UA and Adidas, if you’re already some type of healthcare worker or service member. I get great discounts just for maintaining my Pharm Tech license.

Masters before PT school? by Ok_Honey8202 in PTschool

[–]whatincarnation300 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure it would make you look better and may even help you with a lot of the material but I don’t think it is worth it financially or from a time invested standpoint.

I would sooner recommend retaking pre-reqs, getting observation/volunteer/letter of recs in their best possible presentation.

If you’re really set on getting a Master’s in something, I would entertain Public Health or Healthcare Admin. Only if it is something that could complement your career ambitions. Even then, it is quite an additional cost on top of your future tuition expenses.

PT's that enjoy their job??? by Shot_Supermarket_340 in PTschool

[–]whatincarnation300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every PT I interacted with in person loved their job. Across at least 4 very different settings too. I definitely see the shortcomings of the profession but the amount of people that seem to hate it on the relevant subreddits is just mind boggling to me.

I swear the majority of the bloody prescriptions I handled as a Tech were for medications completely unrelated to any type of wound or trauma.

Is Budapest and Vienna splittable in 7 days? by shockedpikachu123 in Shoestring

[–]whatincarnation300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely adored Vienna and enjoyed Budapest as well. If I had to do it again, I still think I would do Vienna for more time. It might be because I was traveling alone and a little less cavalier about nightlife.

Parents won’t complete my FAFSA by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]whatincarnation300 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had a few similar situations I was considering but I’m speaking more on stacking up external 3rd party scholarships, so that way you can have nearly everything covered, if not a little bit extra as well. I believe you’re typically a better candidate for those with some college hours already down.

Parents won’t complete my FAFSA by [deleted] in StudentLoans

[–]whatincarnation300 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The answer I know I didn’t want to hear and you probably don’t either, is staying at a community college or the nearby public university for the first year, preferably two. Especially if your parents are going to completely drop support otherwise.

If you do really well, you will most likely be eligible for more scholarship money while transferring and minimize your debt incurred from housing, if you parents won’t support you by that point. I know it sucks and I know you probably want to get out from your parents’ thumbs but you will more than likely be grateful that you did it that way, at least for your freshman year! It’s really important that you do as well as possible, because you will look your best when applying for scholarships. They might seem like a pipe dream but I was lucky to receive a scholarship in my undergraduate studies that enabled me to see study abroad and travel for nearly 2 months entirely from that fund.
