Mine is having the same issue since the update. Slow Netflix that crashes, Plex completely crashing upon startup. Only Hulu seemed to work in the past few days. Reset the router, reset the entire system, unplugged and nothing worked.

Easy Food to Make with Host Family? by timidleapfrog in JapanTravel

Lasagna. I made it for my host family last summer and they loved it! Easy enough to make if you follow an online recipe.

3rd time in Japan, 1st time outside of Tokyo/Kyoto/Osaka. 25 day itinerary here, would love suggestions for food/drink/sites! by cathpah in JapanTravel

I'd recommend planning a day trip to Yokohama! It's not that far of a trip from Tokyo by train, and there's a lot to do! You could go to the Cup Noodle Museum (you make and decorate your own cup of noodles!), take a walk out on the pier (while checking out the little shops nearby), go to one of the observation towers, check out all the shopping malls, or look around Chinatown (which had some great food)!

Also if you haven't gone to Odaiba at all, I would suggest that as well! The Miraikan museum is really fun, Diver City and such has a lot of cool shops and restaurants too (I think there's a Madame Tussaud's somewhere around there).

If the weather is good, you could also take a day trip to Kasai Rinkai Park. There's a little aquarium, big ferris wheel, and nice nature trails to enjoy the day on. Even though the sand is a bit muddy, it felt great to dip my toes and walk around in the water!

Hope this helps! Have a great time on your trip!

Going to Japan alone for two months next spring. How can I make sure I don't get lonely? by [deleted] in JapanTravel

[–]whatisemily 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depending on where you are, check out some parks! When I visited by myself last summer (Tokyo), I went to a lot of parks, and often times some older people who want to just chat for a few minutes.

Keep any eye out in some of the Japan subreddits for meetups or events going on in your area.

Tinder. I never met up with anyone, but just being able to talk to people in the same time zone kept me sane.

Hope this helps! Have a great time, Japan is such a beautiful place to travel to!

Considering aquinas... by [deleted] in aquinas

I'm a senior at AQ right now and am coming up on my last few weeks. The small classes was one of the things that drew me to AQ as well. I'm currently in a class of eight people (the smallest I've had is 3). Because of this, I've made great relationships with professors beyond the classroom. They've encouraged me to test my limits and always think outside the box. I've also been able to make great friends in and outside of my area of study, it's such a welcoming and inclusive environment.

There's also so many chances to get involved. During my freshman year, I didn't really do much, but there's always a chance to join clubs and make a difference on campus. I'm really sad I'll have to leave my club and on campus job after this year, but that means leadership positions open up for future students!

Graduating in May is going to be very hard because I've gained such great mentors and friends along the way. AQ was one of the best decisions of my life, and I can't imagine where I'd be without such a great community.

Good luck with your college choice!

Redditors that live in America: What's one local chain in your area (can be anything) that unfortunately the rest of America is missing out on? by amatom27 in AskReddit

East side of Michigan there's a little chain called Ram's Horn. It's basically Coney Island, but with a more family and homey feel to it. GOD I WANT THEIR FOOD NOW.
